I'm pretty sure around then I went to another regular season Nats game that was at the time, the longest 9 inning game in modern MLB history, over 4 hours. (trying to look up that game, there were yet another around then "Nats longest 9 inning game ever", during the postseason)

Like for real there was a pretty big historic preservation fight in that neighborhood a few years ago (mostly filled with WW2 era garden apartments) that featured one of the perennial candidates for county board. (Who is from that neighborhood)
