Any decent insulation is outside of the norm though. The normal way of framing a wall doesn't leave room for more than 50mm of insulation and then they leave a big air gap between the framing and the drywall so it does ~n o t h i n g ~

It's an expensive specialty product sold to the trades, doesn't even show up at the building supply surplus. I looked up the price of faced polyiso foam and it was over a hundred bucks per 3'x6' sheet @_@

Work continues on making the inside of my hovel separate from the outside.

They don't sell foil-faced insulation foam here so I've used my cosplay skills and made my own. Less foothold for bugs.

Permanent residency protects me from the Japanese government denying me re-entry on the basis that gay marriage isn't legally recognized. It does nothing to protect me from the US government.

I managed to do the whole project up until now without falling through the open floor joists, but tonight I got Too Sad beyond the operating parameters of my dissociation BIOS, and stepped out into empty air :/ I am black and blue and my vestibular system is messed up.

Roses are in full flush and my underperforming "Apricotta" cosmos that have been creeping along since May finally look like something. I was introduced to this cultivar via the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden, as seen in the mass planting in the last pic.

In other medical horror, the sentimental "oh look at this dead child you Have To Care Now" segment of the video was a kid cycling without a helmet getting hit by a truck, inconclusive x-rays, discharged and died at home hours later. Sounds like a PSA about *helmets* and *malpractice* to me.

Survived first-time driver's license renewal with no English support. Continue to be disgusted by attempts to make systemic safety issues (extreme elderly drivers; unrestrained child passengers; moped/bicycle curbside lane-splitting; dashboard TVs) all individual drivers' problems.
