Would you believe this spindly guy is an assassin bug? I picked him up initially thinking he was a phasmid…then I got a closer look at the face and saw the rostrum, and the raptorial forelimbs started to make sense! He's a member of emesinae, a reduviid subfamily I didn't know about before!

Wow, I didn’t realize they got that big! All the ones I’ve seen have been tiny.

Also weirdly, a bunch of “unscented” deodorants are in fact scented. Not just that they have a smell from the functional ingredients, “scent” is listed as one. It’s a major complaint when you read reviews because not having that is the whole point!

Setting replies to followers only is a nice setting here, it reduces drive-by comments like that without being as restrictive as replies only from those you follow (which was the only option on Twitter).

The people using the Discover feed are almost always those who are bulk-following 20,000 people from starter packs, so their following feed is useless. For me, the Discover feed hardly shows anything different from Following.

Yeah, from that link it’s very obvious. I’m just pissed off because I’d only heard of it recently and thought “oh nice, we finally have a specific insult for AI” and now I see these shits have already been appropriating it for years.

Somehow the Interior sites all seem to be missing this crap, all the ones I've seen just have a regular shutdown notice. Maybe we shouldn't remind them they exist...

I don’t know many people and I know three personally, it’s a lot. Though quite a few told them to screw off on coming back.

“Anyone who wants to have power is someone who should never be allowed near it” really is one of the key insights ever.

That just goes to show how Hollywood is biased against Trump!

Conversely, I don't have a social life and I hate talking to robots *vastly* more than I hate talking to most people.

The Orphan Crusher is here to stay. If we don’t feed more Orphans to the Crusher the Orphan Crushing industry will die. It’s time to wake up to the reality of the Orphan Crusher. The Orphan Crusher is worth billions. We need to teach people to use the Orphan Crusher. It’s here to stay.

Second paragraph is a long way of saying “this is to remind you that I am your boss now.”

How often do you hear people talk about old-style grammar books?

Being from New England, I learned it as "primmer" due to this. Hardly heard any other things referred to as one. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New...

So if it was rented out full time during the first year, it would violate that clause right? They are claiming it was rented, though notably the indictment doesn’t say what year the tax filing proving that is from.
kmagnacca.bsky.social
And notably, they cite a tax filing as proof she rented it but don’t say what year it’s from.

Also IANAL, but it seems even if there were a case the “ill-gotten gains” would be the rental income for that one year, not the interest discount over the whole 30 years.
kmagnacca.bsky.social
Also seems notable that they don't cite what year that tax filing is from, since if it's after 2021 she's in the clear no matter what.

Seems like you'd need to be a lawyer to parse this; the first part of section 6 makes it sound like you could rent it as long as you're the one making decisions about it ("controlling occupancy"), then later it says "available primarily for personal use for one year" like it can't be rented at all.
