Don't believe the hype about the Canada Disability Benefit;

Canada continues to legislate poverty for disabled people at provincial & federal levels while making support programs as inaccessible & underfunded as they can get away with.

Poverty and health are directly linked

It is very hard to cope with chronic illness when you can’t afford to have your basic needs met

It’s not a personal failing. It’s the result of a hyper capitalistic & ableist society

We need to stop blaming the individuals and start demanding social reform

The black and gray squiggly ripples are tree branches reflected on the water and the white is the reflected light from the clouds. The ripples are being caused by a water skipper insect off screen to the lower left, so the ripples spread from there out to the right, where they get progressively darker.

Imagine, especially in Canada if we could get to the point that every developer had to include solar energy in their designs whether that be solar panel, roof tiles windows that absorb solar energy investing in new technology for housing materials to help gather energy.

I found a 19th century Cat Villain!

A huge chonk of a fluffy cat sitting on a table near an open fire. The cat is cream and grey and appears to be shaped like a barrel in a fur coat. They are scowling fiercely with their moustache and bewhiskered ears apparently flowing back into the cold wind. There's a definite vibe that this villainous cat twirls their moustache as they evict orphans into the aforementioned blizzard and think Scrooge was an easy-going lightweight. They are magnificent.

I spent some time with the young Agami Herons yesterday at Agami Island #costarica

So many youngsters are still around the colony, busy fishing in the canals. The adults are long gone now and the kids are own their own.

Her early childhood was traumatic. That affects people's judgment for years. Doubt she's happy so much as complacent due to unaddressed trauma that Allen made worse by being her predator.

He'd been in a PARENTAL role with her since she was a small child, then abused that trust to GROOM her for sex.

🐧 Puffin fact #2: Puffins are amazing flyers. They flap their wings up to 400 times a minute, reaching speeds of 55 mph. Underwater, they “fly” through the sea to chase fish!
