I keep thinking about this article that I reposted earlier.

1) It really pissed me off reading about the Deaf scientist who can't progress above a certain level b/c of communications issues.

Damn, one thing I can say about growing up during the era of over-inflated fears about MK and Night Trap is at least the kids didn’t side with the game cops.

For @motherjones.com, I wrote about what's at stake for chronically ill contractors and freelancers as Affordable Care Act enhanced tax credits expire.

When you're already sick, the possibility of not being able to afford health insurance at all is terrifying. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
For many contractors, losing ACA subsidies means losing health care
The GOP's unprecedented premium hikes put chronically ill workers—especially freelancers—in peril.

I love how Letitia James is called a "Trump Antagonist" instead of a prosecutor doing her job bringing charges against a criminal
A federal grand jury was meeting on Thursday to consider a second set of criminal charges against New York Attorney General Letitia James, a source familiar with the matter said, after a judge threw out an initial set of charges against the prominent antagonist of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Because they aren’t scared they want control

And because we can’t talk about abusive narcissistic non men without misogyny OR coddling

we are here

And especially in white womanhood

“I don’t feel special” is seen as something done to them
Note how these awful people are getting exactly the exclusions of children that they demanded and *that still isn’t enough for them*: they demand everyone be delighted about it and kiss their arses for being brilliant.

You can’t tell if someone is disabled just by looking at them.

There’s no such thing as the “genuinely disabled”.

You are not entitled to a person’s entire medical history just so you can decide whether to believe them or not.

People are not faking disability, most are trying to fake being well.

I view censorship the same way I view crime. If X is a reason to be censored people with power will declare that anything they want censored has X thing. If X is a reason the people with power can strip you of your right forever people with power will do whatever it takes to do so.
There are no good faith questions with censorship right now. Whether you like it or not, we're in a situation where you just gotta defend shit you hate.

Merits aside (and they do exist) I hate Outlast and Agony and always will. But like I said before we're absolutely on the same side in this fight.

Horrifying story: Chicago promoted two police officers even after investigators found they engaged in sexual misconduct. That’s because the Chicago Police Department’s promotions system allows officers’ disciplinary records to be ignored.

"That's smart of Micron, they'll make more money!" Yes, companies in charge of vital goods everyone else requires should definitely destroy the market and leave the entire world in the lurch for short term gains during a bubble.

That seems like a great long-term plan for everyone, you're so smart.

Responses to this thread that deserve to get you slapped:

"Glad I already built my PC!" Oh did you? Did you get a good deal, and everybody else can go fuck themselves? That's super, I'm glad you announced it just before the holidays people were counting on for deals to finally upgrade.
Important to note that the reason RAM is more expensive isn't because OpenAI is ransacking store shelves and buying all the retail stock.

They aren't using those. Instead "AI" companies dumped an insane amount of money on RAM manufacturers to tie up their production lines with parts "AI" needs.
