Technically she/her, but use any pronouns you like. Professional perfectionist (editor), fiber artist, theoretically a musician, 5th-gen Texan and not as proud of that as I used to be.
Rich Brotherton is immensely talented and a terrific guy.

Glad to pay my $30 in taxes for USPS. I pay more in taxes for other services that benefit Americans far less.
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Today's non-awful Christmas song advent calendar track is another a capella one, the Monkees performing the sixteenth century villancico "Riu Chiu".
Yes, they *could* sing that well.

WELL NOW, would you look at that? A massive, 24-YEAR-LONG study of MORE THAN 1.2 MILLION people in Denmark found NO LINK between aluminum in childhood vaccines and autism, asthma, OR chronic disorders.

Aluminum is an ADJUVANT.

It ENHANCES your immune response to a vaccine.

That’s it.

All of the companies that make the software I use are increasing their prices, to account for an "investment" in AI.

I'm sat here imagining how my clients would feel if I added 30% to each invoice, because I "really got into gambling".

My bipartisan IRS MATH Act with Senator Bill Cassidy is now law.

Now, if you mess up your taxes, the IRS has to tell you where you made a mistake and how to fix it.

No more spending a fortune on lawyers or hours to find errors.

That means fewer headaches and more money in your pocket.

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

In, like, 25, 30 years, word nerds will be on whatever kind of social media platform then exists, gently correcting people and saying, "Actually, no. While that popular folk etymology is understandable, the phrase 'trumped up charges' actually originated much earlier ..."

This is halfway through the thread. Reading all of it is enlightening.
If you make $200,000 a year, quite a bit more than poverty level, you end up more than 20 blocks away. Quite a distance!

Don't get it twisted...we old women want to move abroad, too.
"In 2025, 40% of women aged 15 to 44 say they would move abroad permanently if they had the opportunity. The current figure is four times higher than the 10% who shared this desire in 2014, when it was generally in line with other age and gender groups."
