Have the trainspotter's gaze.
One of the things I can't stand about the "free transit" bros is that they discount the needs and desires of female riders. Enforcing TAP to ride (even when the TAP card provides free fare) is proven to keep the stations + trains cleaner and safer.

This! It’s cold and flu season coming on strong. When I masked on public transit I got sick much less. When I masked in the office I got sick much less.
A sniffly person on the subway reminded me to mask more diligently again indoors again because KN95s also reduce the risk of exposure to colds, the flu, and other people's germs.

My favourite thing about Manchester's public transport Bee Network is when the buses get back to the bus station and drive around in a massive waggle dance to tell the other buses where Chorlton is

I know everyone is dunking on the robot here but look at how much space is devoted to cars in this scenario. The sidewalk should be bigger and the road smaller.
Just as you thought food delivery companies couldn't inflict any more misery on society:

Instead of using lowly-paid gig economy contractors to deliver groceries, they're replacing humans with robots, who, in turn, force humans off the pavement into road traffic.

The irony is that the prototype interiors for HS2 trains include significant space for bikes to be stored, without hanging them vertically.

HS2 is better for cyclists as a railway line, because it’s the only way we’ll get capacity for bikes on trains again.

if you want to know why toronto's new light rail line is going to be slower than the bus it replaces, here's one reason why:
finch west LRT is currently being tested ahead of opening. like its counterpart, the eglinton crosstown, it's stuck behind left-turning traffic.

note the transit signal showing red while lines of left turning cars advance.

40,000 people are projected to use this line daily when it opens.

They're going to write books on the level of corruption. Doug Ford puts out.

Now in a giant pork bill, they are looking to open the door for points to expire.

Points like gift cards, are corpo money up-front, but hang as an expansive liability on the books till the corpo defaults.

Boo Hoo 😁

narrowing car lanes is a good way to force low-speed streets in addition to a way to provide bike lanes without getting caught in the province's stupid legislation.

bike on, toronto. the province can try, but this is a city that walks, bikes, and takes transit in huge numbers and that won't change.
