Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.
The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

My disgusting fave is those little windows that pop up whenever I order something online "Hi! I'm Gertrude! Need help?" and I just want to chop off that corner of my screen.

That's disturbing. I know a copy of Becoming Altar did make it to the UK... not too long ago. I completely stopped trying to mail anything to my friends in Aotearoa, but that was even before tarriffs messed with us. Connecting across the waters is more and more problematic.

I'm going insane because people constantly recommend using AI for things and it is always, ALWAYS worse than repeatedly bashing my head on a brick.

I think it’s pretty clear at this point that one of the main impacts of LLMs is to disrupt thinking: to make it so that far too many people never properly learn how to do it, and then to control the output so there are thoughts that people never learn how to think.
