I was curious about whether this was just named after somebody named “White” but no they literally called it this because it was a settlement of white people
This race was such a massive swing blowout that Democrat Taylor Rehmet literally won a city called White Settlement

It's hard to overstate how ell-organized the portland march that got gassed was... organizers made the crowd promise to be peaceful, said the march would slow in front of the ICE building but not stop, that we would stick to one chant (ICE Out). They did absolutely everything right and got gassed.

The worst part of this 2nd time is that YET AGAIN overlapped with my period. There were only 9 days this month that I wasn't bleeding and that feels deeply unfair on top of everything else.

Today I almost fainted in the shower, then broke into a cold sweat on the toilet while my bowels waged war. 👎
I literally wear mask everwhere outside the apartment except for when I eat. I've been feeling under the weather this week and thought it was the incessant cold but when I left work early today because of dizziness and sore throat I took a covid test and it wenr immediately to POSITIVE 😫

I visited hotels all over Minneapolis, went into back rooms & talked to the staff.

They're afraid.

One told me she resents how her undocumented coworkers spend their days cleaning the rooms of agents who are “hunting down their family members.”

Minneapolis’ Hotel Workers Are on Edge
Staff across the city told NOTUS how their lives have changed since the start of the federal immigration operation. “It's frightening,” one said.

"Exhibitions will become harder to mount: International loans often require conservators, registrars, and couriers to travel with the work. If those individuals refuse, institutions abroad will be forced to reconsider loaning pieces to US museums."
What’s an American art fair without the collectors who buy from it, or an exhibition without international loans? What would an American art ecosystem beyond the market look like without the international artists, curators, and historians who people it?

If entering the country suddenly requires surrendering your digital life and private information, how long before artists and collectors simply choose not to come?

What is this shit! "plz follow the law, as you are already obligated to do, and we will give you more money"

If you could enforce these deals for ICE not to do shit it's already not supposed to do, you could enforce the law right now.

If you can't, you should not support giving them more money!

The condition is banning something that’s already illegal in nearly all cases?!???!!! The -only- thing this tells me is that the administration is gearing up for widespread deportation of citizens

Jesus fucking Christ. This is nothing and it’s garbage
Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the party agreed on three main goals:

° Require warrants in some cases and ICE coordination with state and local law enforcement

° Create a code of conduct and enforce it

° Require agents to wear body cams and not masks

Dems managed to get a 2-week delay on the DHS bill, so CALL YOUR SENATORS AND YOUR REPRESENTATIVE EVERY DAY FOR THE NEXT 14 DAYS. Tell them you want ICE, CBP and all the rest of it defunded and dismantled. Tell them you will be voting against anyone who doesn't do this. This is our chance.

They’ve sold 70,000 copies, raising more than $250k for immigrant aid groups.
