Maybe everyone who's still working tomorrow can have a big email party where we do all of our emails and then pull some crackers or something and get a good star to celebrate.

I was so moved by the Amy Sherald show at the Whitney—her work is beautifully composed & rendered. Watching a film about her in a packed gallery, I felt very emotional & was grateful to have the opportunity to encounter her artistic vision with others. I was reminded of how much art matters now.

One of the biggest moments of my career:
USCIS canceled my client’s naturalization oath ceremony. We filed a lawsuit, went to trial, and the judge swore him in right there in the courtroom!

Steve isn’t here anymore, but he always posted this picture on Hanukkah so I thought we could carry on his tradition and remember him.
Happy Hanukkah to our friends who celebrate. Rachel Posner, a rabbi’s wife in Kiel, Germany, took this photograph in 1931 -- a potent reminder that fascism must be fought in every generation, even if it's wrapped in an American flag and a red hat.

But playing this first. Baby Jess loved this movie, since it showed a love of politics and public service in a way that helped me understand what I wanted to do when I grew up.

Natural science, licks the rock
Social science, watches someone else lick the rock and writes down if they die
While measuring brown sugar today, I noticed a dis-colored mass and culled it. Washed it off and it looked like a rock. "How did a rock get in there?"

Later, in the name of Science! I licked the rock.

It was sweet. I decided it's probably a solid crystal of sugar that had escaped the crusher.

11 people in Australia were killed today by gunmen while they celebrated the first night of Chanukah at Sydney’s Bondi Beach. Targeted because they were Jews.

As Jewish families around the world, we place our menorahs in our windows. Our message to the world: Light will outlive the darkness.
