What a superb day yesterday. As part of @originalgcg.bsky.social annual seminar, I went walking in the footprints of giants - mainly Iguanadonts. Between Pett Level beach & Fairlight Cove, I observed dinosaur trackways, tail marks, bone beds, fossil wood and ripples ⚒️🪨🦕 @derbyuni.bsky.social

Oh my.
Even in silence we rebel.
28 December 1795 In protest over the suppression of public meetings for the discussion of political grievances, a ‘Thinking Club’ was formed at the Coopers’ Arms Manchester. 300 people joined that first meeting and were silent for an hour.

We’re back again with more of our 2025 highlights!

Ozone hole discovery anniversary – We marked 40 years since BAS scientists Joe Farman, Brian Gardiner and Jon Shanklin discovered the ozone hole in 1985. Their findings led to the Montreal Protocol which prevented an additional 2.5°C of warming.

An adaptation I'm surprised more parents don't ask for is to be in a specific teacher's class.
Yes in some schools where consistency is really high it might not matter but in a lot I think it really does.

If ever there was an example demonstrating the high level of persecution faced by Hen Harriers on UK grouse moors, the lack of consequences for the offenders, and the lack of justice for the victim…
