its like if you hired someone to fix a dangerous hole in the ground and the person hired to fill it in spent their entire time staring at the hole and then being like "this is a real dangerous situation, big hole here, somebody could fall in, someone should do something about this. Are you aware.."

Admitting to using gen AI for your art or books or music, etc, is like the biggest self-own imaginable. Literally out of the gate you’re telling people you can’t, you care not and won’t even try but want credit anyways. So, like, is it a participation trophy you’re after? I doughnut get it.

Due to the continued silencing of LGTBQ+ (and specifically trans) authors by the publishing industry, I'm looking to self publishing more and more.
I know that there are good presses, and good people in trad pub, but I'm growing more uneasy.
