Huh, according to this map, East Palo Alto β an unincorporated majority Black community since the 1950s (as a result of redlining) β was a sundown town. Soon after it was incorporated in 1987, the old βdowntownβ on the west side of US-101 was completely plowed over to build a luxury hotel.

Everything I'm reading says that DART would kill service to those areas immediately upon them pulling out.

I talked to a woman in her late 60s the other day who said she's had to stop riding her bike because the lack of protected bike lanes in her neighborhood makes it too dangerous.

The real question is what part of the system are they willing to sacrifice/defund in order to do so

this isn't all about housing, tho. the person you're qt said building overall & it invariably also incl industry usage which has been getting improved over the years too. then of the homes, the bulk of older ones are in areas which have trad had temperate weather & many don't have ac.

If you propose regulations on e-bikes/e-motos/mopeds/scooters and don't discuss any sort of infrastructure improvements for bicyclists and pedestrians or traffic calming measures for cars, then I will simply not take you seriously.
