Huh, according to this map, East Palo Alto – an unincorporated majority Black community since the 1950s (as a result of redlining) – was a sundown town. Soon after it was incorporated in 1987, the old “downtown” on the west side of US-101 was completely plowed over to build a luxury hotel.

Clamping down on common-or-garden motoring offences good for road safety and catching wrong’uns. Timothy McVeigh famously caught due to a broken brake light
Certainly was the case with roads. Trials were done back in 2004 that showed using ANPR to spot and intercept stolen/untaxed/unMOTd/uninsured vehicles helped prevent/detect more serious crime by "denying criminals use of the road".
