With the rise of German fascism in the 1930s and 1940s, the Roman Catholic Church silently decided to protect its real estate over its congregants.

There are creeping signs that the church may take a more moral position in the face of American fascism in the 2020s.

Yes, Tom Homan took a $50,000 bribe in a Cava bag, but if he takes over the Minnesota operation for Gregory Bovino, it will be a win for civility and decency.

Narcissists and sociopaths tend to assume everyone acts and thinks like they do, that’s why “every accusation is a confession” keeps being true with them. So when they point a gun at someone they expect them to react like they would, cowed obedience.

ICE has killed 9 folks in the first 26 days of ‘26:

• Alex Pretti
• Renee Good
• Keith Porter
• Heber Sanchaz Domínguez
• Victor Manuel Diaz
• Parady La
• Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz
• Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres
• Geraldo Lunas Campos

They all deserve justice. And for us to remember their names.

"oh no, we successfully got Americans used to the constant specter of gun violence in their daily lives, and now they're not scared of OUR guns."
There's a video of protesters outside a Hilton last night, and some ICE goons point rifles at them, and the protesters don't move. You can almost see the goons bluescreen in that moment, like, they have zero plan for what to do next, when people are not 'properly' cowed and submissive to them.

In 21st century US politics, the two most important ongoing stories are:
1) The radicalization of the GOP, &
2) the degradation of the information environment, ie, the death of accountability journalism.

Neither gets a fraction of the attention devoted to, say, annoying woke undergrads.

Yes, MAGA fascists = incels who are apoplectic when “pick-up artist” coaching is repellent the real world.
I think they did take social media into account, but they're so brainrotten and nostalgic for said 20th Century Death Squad techniques they thought the spectacle of brutality would actually be popular
Feels like ICE is trying to use Ye Old 20th Century Death Squad techniques, except they totally failed to account for the fact that social media is ubiquitous now and the regime still has basically 0 effective control over "bystanders posting constant video online of death squad movements."

My variant for Storm: Earths Mightiest Mutant 2

This is very much stylistically in line with the Black Cat cover, hopefully I can turn this into a series of sorts.

Sure, I’ll bump my unpopular opinion but also use the occasion to promote that Delroy deserves this Oscar ex post facto for his performance in DA FIVE BLOODS.

I also need to see NOPE again for its rewarding onion skins of entertainment and insight.
Feel the same about CASINO- especially the needledrops which play like a parody of what Scorsese did in GOODFELLAS

I’ll go out on a limb and add SINNERS - real pretty but pretty corny and it didn’t work as camp or horror.

Glad for its success but Coogler has too much glow for his circle to say no
movies that so many other love deeply and I find meh to terrible:

The Departed
Heat
The Irishman

Trying to give Heat another try rn and my god it is bad.

Minneapolis is the capital of the U.S. right now. Random middle aged aunties on the ground there are showing more physical and moral courage in one volunteer shift than Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries have in their entire lives combined.

Any elected Republican with an ounce of integrity would leave the party. Not one in Congress is leaving because they're all cowards or fascist bootlickers or both. (*Though Massie has been doing some good from the inside).
MN Gubernatorial candidate Chris Madel withdrew this morning from the race, saying "he cannot support the national GOP’s “stated retribution on the citizens of our state, nor can I count myself a member of a party that would do so.”

Chris Madel ends GOP bid for governor, says he can’t support federal ‘retribution’ against Minnesota
His exit comes as some other Republicans have started to distance themselves from the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in the state.

We need a new journalism.

No more horse race reporting and assumption of good faith where there clearly isn't any.

There is a gulf between what Republicans say and what they do and the mask has fully come off.

They hold no American value but white power and tax cuts for the rich. That's the frame

FWIW, Jesus was not only supremely compassionate, red text JC was also much funnier than anything associated with the Babylon Bee.

As being both fully God and fully human, He knew how to poke fun at our foibles but also never punched down.
Joel Berry, Managing Editor of the Babylon Bee, wrote this AM that: “If we lose heart every time a feral Communist commits suicide by cop, our country isn’t gonna make it *** I’m so beyond letting my Christian compassion get weaponized by Leftist death-worshippers…” (His “Christian compassion”) 1/

His gun was holstered and legally registered.

He never brandished it or even reached for it.

The gun was inconsequential.

Yet agents put ten bullets into him.

Don’t let them blame his gun.

Don’t let them blame Alex.

This was a murder.

BESSENT: But he brought a gun
