Rep. Thanedar has filed two articles of impeachment against Hegseth, one for "murder and conspiracy to murder" and the other for "reckless and unlawful mishandling of classified information." 🧵

(Full disclosure: I was happy to consult a bit on drafting this.)

I was also not obsessed with Hitler. But I was also not an unctuous little Nazi shitweasel. Which Farage has been his entire life.

The Spectator is basically now just a brownshirt-washing publication now, making racism socially acceptable
I was a teenage boy once. More recently than Farage was. A working class one, in an impoverished, deprived, isolated community, that was 99.6% white.

Genuinely never heard any of my friends/peers ever express an iota of admiration for Hitler. Because even if they *were* racist, they had limits.

One of my fave niche history facts is how many loaded pistols your average highwayman had during a hold up.

We're talking four minimum on his saddle, then at least two in his belt. Ideally three or four.

Because fuck trying to reload a 17th century pistol on horseback that's why.

Sam Altman saying he uses Chat GPT as a parenting tool is a dumb as fuck “news” story today, but honestly, you should never take any parenting advice from rich people. Full stop. They don’t look after their kids. They have staff. Precisely zero of their parenting dilemmas resemble normal humans’.

@nytimes.com report a complaint made against FIFA over the ‘Peace Award’. Not sure if it’ll run but I’m finding it hard not to laugh. Link below, not sure if you need to be a subscriber but since the Post bent the knee to Agent Orange, I find it’s worth it.

I would genuinely die of cringe if I had to talk to an object. I would rather strangle myself with my own entrails than talk to a computer. I have tried a couple of times, and every time I have to lock myself in a cupboard and hide for 3 weeks.

Let people type things.

The "cLoSe ThE bOrDeRs" rhetoric was always performance art, rather than anything based in an understanding of how the real world works. There are literally hundreds of places to cross the NL-DE border. I know, I've crossed lots of them, for fun.
One year after Wilders introduced border controls between NL/Germany, the mayor of Losser says the deployment of 5,000+ guards has in 12 months blocked 500 people. “I understand people want to do something to combat illegal immigration but this is not helping"

Episode 527 is here, and it's a Q&A bonanza, answering questions sent in by our amazing Patreon backers, such as:
- Which MotoGP rider gets signed first for 2027?
- Will the 850s favour smaller riders?
- Street races: real or not?

I'm old enough to remember when you could buy a copy of Microsoft Office outright and use it in perpetuity without extra cost.

Anyway, LibreOffice is free, Open Source, and will do 99% of everything MS Office will.
shouldn’t the cost go down now that they replaced a bunch of paid employees with AI. they are constantly saying AI/LLM will reduce cost for enterprise and business. why are you like this
Microsoft? you lie everyday. we are not stupid. MS office new pricing coming soon:
