I used to pay for journalism from NYT, WP, and Economist. Now I pay for Miami Herald, Rolling Stone, Wired, and ProPublica.

Ones that appear to still do investigative journalism rather than Trump appeasing stenography.

Been picking up dvds/bluerays on eBay to rip for a Jellyfin server. Also picking up vinyls since I’ve discovered I enjoy the ritual of setting up music and listening to albums all the way through (my hearing has been damaged a bit by playing in rock bands so I don’t get into the audiophile debate)

for anyone understandably intimidated by getting off Spotify, here's what i did:

— Tidal = music
— Pocket Casts = podcasts
— BorrowBox / local library = audiobooks

& cost? less than £5pm on family subscription / totally free / totally free. so, morally & financially, leaving Spotify makes sense.
