The Jets did it!
A dubious historical mark is at stake this week.

If the Jets don't intercept a pass on Sunday, they'll become the first team in the Super Bowl era to finish a season without a pick.

Weirder still, they'll become the first team to finish a season without a pick in over 80 years.

You don't have to listen to these professional liars who are barely trying. 9 months ago they were saying they were powerless to return a man they illegally sent to an El Salvador gulag because it would violate that country's national sovereignty
Vance pushes back and says this was not illegal, arguing "Maduro has multiple indictments in the United States for narcoterrorism. You don't get to avoid justice for drug trafficking in the United States because you live in a palace in Caracas."

like 75% of dem messaging right now should be “the party led by epsteins best friend is breaking into pre-k childcare centers so they can record your toddlers and put the videos on internet”
uhhh yeah I can see why these childcare properties weren't eager to let in some rando dudes asking "where are the kids?"

The lesson of 2025: fighting back works.

Not immediately. Not perfectly. It’s a grind.

But don’t let fascists tell you they are inevitable.

2026 is starting off right.

None of these people are actual "nerds," none of them have any real technical abilities or non-standard interests. The only thing they bring to the table is social license to say stuff like "what if there was a doorbell camera with a gun in it"

Being "nerd-coded" now is not about being... detail-oriented, interested in non-standard things, enmeshed in a community of enthusiasts. It is now an explicitly eugenic belief that you belong to a higher form of human being and are beyond traditional morality

I think it's interesting to consider how giving your company a name from fantasy or science-fiction went from indicating playfulness and innovation to, effectively, a guarantee that you will be amoral if not actively evil

This, combined with "vice signaling" (taking pride in antisocial behavior) has given us the reign of the Stupid Asshole, something most people are against, but can only be remedied if we're not too polite to talk about it
An essential development over the past decade-plus is that the ignorant went from feeling chastened when their ignorance was revealed to banding together and deciding that, actually, they were right. They might disagree at times, but they agreed that ignorance itself was an indicator of trust.
