I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by posting, starving hysterical narrative.
30 mins of strangulation of this crappy Man Uts side followed by 60 min of absolutely boneheaded play where absolutely nothing looked right. A blip turns into a tank trap and now we’re right back in the muck of a title race.

Your semi-annual reminder to subscribe to the @inquirer.com . Fuck WaPo and the NYT. The Inky should be our national paper of record
If you’re outraged over ICE and you want to do one thing tonight where you don’t even have to leave your couch, subscribe to a local, independently owned newspaper.

Having reporters who can be relied on right now to ask questions and actually report the truth is essential.

The world should not come here. There should not be a World Cup here.
I spoke out against the last World Cup because of concerns I had about human rights violations and it’s only right that I express the same concerns and condemnations now.

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.

Nuremberg would somehow not be a cathartic enough exercise at this point. We need something more vindictive, more humiliating, more aggressively righteous in its fury.
Two women trained as first responders were abducted by three ICE agents. One of the agents starts seizing. The other two don’t know what to do. The women jump into action and save the agent’s life, only to be re-handcuffed and processed.

Detained by ICE, two women became first responders during agent’s seizure
The women say they guided agents through the emergency, later raising concerns about medical protocols, weapons safety and accountability.

The Julian Alvarez rumors are just almost too tempting to be believed. Literally a perfect player for us - like a pre-injury Jesus with finishing chops - and it feels like this wouldn’t have leaked out unless there was at least some confidence from our side.

It is so fundamentally revealing of the far right world view in America that they can only believe people take action for financial gain. Charity, community, civic commitment, moral beliefs are alien to them.
Emmer: "The people you're seeing in these videos, the vast majority of them I do not believe are from Minnesota. These are organized chaos agents, paid agitators. The vast majority of Minnesotans that are talking to me appreciate that law enforcement has arrived, and they are happy they're there."

It is also the story of the Tottenham
What West Ham are achieving this season with the 20th highest revenue in the world should be enshrined in sports legend. The anti-Moneyball. The dumbest guys in the room. This is a story about the triumph of the human spirit

“But what deeply troubles me now is that for all the steps we've taken toward integration, I've come to believe that we are integrating into a burning house."

Dr. King said this famous quote on March 27th, 1968, mere days before his murder. But the context around the quote is interesting...

This is why I own all my Jorginho stock.
i know this means very little, but like half the current top managers were deep-lying passing midfielders who came across as calm and studious. that's michael carrick...
I read his book years ago and my biggest takeaway from it was “this dude will make a very good manager one day”

This is probably the most accurate description.

Someone in their mid-50s today told me that this is the first time he had thought about or been affected by politics. And that guy is actively guarding buildings and his coworkers from ICE.
Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.
This is so smart. I’m so impressed with all the different ways you’re helping your neighbors.

As frustrated as I am about yesterday, It’s also possible we’ve all massively underrated the PL strength top to bottom & are in a new paradigm where anyone can take points off anyone & the goal is to win the battle of attrition. We’ve actually gained ground over the last 5 games

They're the same dude. Craven assholes who crave power that you can't trust. Not hard.
Answer me this:

You have to choose between Gavin Newsom and Trump or some MAGA chump. No other options. If you're really saying that you wouldn't vote for Newsom in that situation, you're not smart enough do what's best for all Americans. Especially trans people.

You need to think strategically.

Was always going to be really tough given the above, just lacked intensity and looked very sluggish. Taking an age to release the ball when building from the back, even Rice missing loose balls. But another point gained at the top this weekend. Hope for plenty of rotation in Milan.

Reasons why Forest (a) will be very tough (imo)

🔴They have their first choice back four and GK available for the first time since August
⚪Sangare is back from AFCON- extra defensive security
🔴They played really well against Liverpool (where they won) and City, they are far better set up to counter.
