Welp, I just made the rare-of-me mistake of giving a youtuber not named "CD-Call" the benefit of the doubt and thinking they were capable of writing a video essay critiquing writing in modern media (in this specific case, in how villains are written) without it devolving into right-wing bullshit 🤦♀️

Something that's always helped me parse this is that improving the lives of the people is the #2 priority for a lot of socialists.
Replacing the system with socialism in the #1 priority, and they viscerally resist anything that makes that harder.
If it does #2, but not #1, they don't want it.
