Generally set apart from a sentence by an explanation point (or by a comma when the feeling's not as strong).
Kash Patel's been such a disaster that John Ratcliffe, whom even Republican Senators rejected as DNI nominee during Trump's first term, has been able to fly under the media radar at ten CIA all year.

Just as hackish as expected. Lovely.

If I were on House Foreign Affairs like @juliejohnsontx.bsky.social, I might want to investigate whether denying refugee admissions from Afghanistan or expelling admitted Afghani refugees were discussed in Trump's surrender talks with the Taliban.
Trump Admin planning a rule to re-decide whether *every* refugee who entered under Biden meets their criteria for a refugee. That’s 230,000 people! And no appeals!

Gonna be fun when NVDA starts leasing/BNPLing GPUs to other companies using the lessees' other assets as collateral.
Premium: This is The Hater's Guide To NVIDIA: A 14k word guide to how NVIDIA makes its money, how millions of Blackwell GPUs have been sold with nowhere for them to be installed, and how NVIDIA's future relies on companies raising hundreds of billions in debt.

The Hater's Guide To NVIDIA
This piece has a generous 3000+ word introduction, because I want as many people to understand NVIDIA as possible. The (thousands of) words after the premium break get into arduous detail, but I’ve wr...

Welp, gonna miss Semien. Not so much his "I'm a Californian who moved to Texas" radio ads for Globe Life though.

At least with Nimmo the Rangers lineup gets even more left-handed?

Mamdani met Trump not as a supplicant but as a champion. He knocked out Cuomo twice! Trump can't help but admire that the same way he admires Putin and Xi and Orban and MBS.

OTOH, Democrats and foreign leaders who want federal funding or advanced weapons or tariff relief are bugs to be squashed.
a significant reason Mamdani can get away with this and other Dems can’t is less that he’s charmed Trump and more that he’s charmed you, dear reader, which is why you’re not yelling at him for being a collaborator or an appeaser right now

The highest-profile victims of 2025 food price jumps (beef, bacon, bananas, coffee, candy, canned goods) largely aren't Thanksgiving staples.

The 16% reported drop in frozen turkey prices is interesting, though. That's the big driver. As others have suggested, might be a strategic loss leader.
This post is going to make people INCANDESCENTLY mad but here we go: the annual Farm Bureau survey of a Thanksgiving meal (using the same basket of goods over time) priced out at $55.18 for 10 people this year, -5% YoY. In real terms (delf w/ CPI) it's the cheapest Thanksgiving meal ever.

1) Less crowding out from A-listers going viral throwing down predictable dunks on Cheeto Man's vulgarity and comical ineptitude.

2) Trump and his crew are a hell of a lot more mean-spirited this time around, ravaging homes and communities and celebrating the harm they visit. Folks don't like that.
Trying to come up with a theory on why anti-Trump culture has been so much better this go around
Wow! Jesse Welles performed his song “Join ICE” on the Colbert Show last night. 🏆

Lotta folks bought the pitch that high prices under Biden flowed from lax border policy, "mandates" for cleaner energy and wasteful federal spending, all of which Trump campaigned on reversing. He also said tariffs would bring in jobs and money.

For those who don't know economics, that's appealing!
The baffling part is how many people were giving him the benefit of the doubt in January and now don't approve. They got new information and changed their mind. But he was already president before! How did you not already know he sucks??

What does Grok say about the Cybertruck versus an F-150 Lightning? Or an Abrams tank? Can it serve briefly as a boat?

Sen. Jack Reed and Rep. Adam Smith need to call a joint press conference today to discuss Trump's fitness as commander-in-chief.

Force the issue into the news and put Trump and Hegseth on defense before they pull the trigger on illegal action in Venezuela.
Good. Dems not backing down in the slightest in the face of Trump's call for their execution. Keep this up, Dems. Treat Trump like *he's* the violent criminal and the real threat to our Constitution order. Because he is.

Can't comment on Judge Smith's discussion of the factors considered for injunctive relief, but it's pretty sad that he keeps returning to The Most Obvious Reason For Redistricting Is Partisan Gain when Judge Brown's opinion hinges on the explicit race-based considerations DOJ and Abbott invoked.
Judge Jerry Smith's dissent from the decision that Texas' redrawn congressional map is an unconstitutional racial gerrymander is now available.

And holy shit it goes hard.

I'd argue that Trump's graft and Vought's anti-Constitutionalism are the same leg of the MAGA stool, the third leg of which is actually Hegseth's bullshit murderous bravado, now being inflicted domestically and abroad.

The complaint that Harris didn't run on cost of living elides two crucial things she actually failed to do:

- Name an economic villain (beyond vague "price gouging")
- Reject Trump's compelling—but wrong—narrative that Biden caused inflation via excessive spending and lax border policy
Pundits: Why didn't Kamala Harris run on kitchen table issues?

Jeffries, Schumer, and other Dems/candidates need to attack this Trump/GOP retreat. Tie it to the ACA debate!

The message: From beef and coffee to healthcare, Trump and Republicans drove costs higher. Now they're walking back the economic extremism we always opposed. They're bad for your finances.

Incredible galaxy brain idea: teach kids to read by inferring words from accompanying illustrations. Surely that will serve them well as they encounter verbal material later on.
ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

Senate Democrats can defang the Republican line that enhanced ACA subsidies are a giveaway to health insurance companies:

Tie extending the credits to a higher minimum medical loss ratio requirement, say 87.5%. (Also, deduct claims paid to subsidiary providers from MLR numerator and denominator.)
