This is on day 3, when things look successful.

80% is low for Trump on most issues, and it's where he started on other issues that have badly gone south for him, like Epstein.
Will "non-interventionist" MAGA go along? Yup.

A new WaPo poll finds only 40% overall approve of the Maduro capture and only 37% say this was appropriate without Congress.

But 80% of Trump voters support the capture and 78% are fine with not going to Congress. 6/

Is Putin ok with this so long as Trump sells out Ukraine? Seems kind of dangerous. But having a mentally fuckedup President is, in many ways.

I'm glad Mandami is the NYC mayor instead of Cuomo or Adams. But why oh why did he have to make that cordial visit to the White House? Too much like normal times!

Turns out pretty much everything happened “earlier than previously believed.” This is just the latest reevaluation.
Scientists in Britain say ancient humans may have learned to make fire far earlier than previously believed, after uncovering evidence that deliberate fire-setting took place in what is now eastern England around 400,000 years ago. https://to.pbs.org/3KUcGsH

Your brain does not store memories like videos. 🧠🧪

Memories are reconstructed each time you recall them through a process called reconsolidation. During this process, details can shift based on emotion, context, and new information, which is why memories can change over time.

Great piece, & so refreshing to see commentators reflect on their mistakes

I also find it quite cathartic to admit where I have been wrong
Hi All, Its the annual column of ritual humiliation, where I dissect, with quotes, the biggest mistakes I made in the past year. There are some great ones where I was wrong. This year, to make the column more helpful, I have even included a lessons learned analysis. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

I've been thinking a lot about the redactions in the Epstein files. Some of them are pretty straightforward in their nature — obviously about privacy issues. But this is a very odd one — why redact the "acts" described?

Glad there’s some kind of line. Maybe Trump’s unpopularity is also a factor.
Trump’s domestic deployment of the National Guard marks an area where he has diverged from the consensus of the conservative legal movement, with no plausible footing in Federalist Society dogma. And it is extremely telling that SCOTUS finally drew the line here. slate.com/news-and-pol...

🚨 The DOJ appears to have redacted Donald Trump’s name from the allegations made in this exhibit in the Epstein files.

Trump’s name was in the original release. Now, it’s blacked out.
