Decided to uncouple my politics with personal stuff, so I made this for the latter. Kept my old account, renamed it and left it political.
I seem to have failed at that.

It's the second day of the year and already I'm so tired. I'm just so fucking tired, existentially.

Absolutely horrific details about an ICE shooting in Minneapolis.

A witness says a woman was trying to drive away from an ICE operation and the ICE agent "reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times."

Bovino was there.

Dear media covering Homeland Security's killing of a woman in Minneapolis,
Homeland Security has routinely lied about violence against the public. It was caught lying repeatedly in Chicago. A federal judge determined that Homeland Security lied.
Share any government statements with that context.

i don't have an original take about ICE murdering a legal observer in cold blood (this seems to be what happened but reports are still coming in and i could be wrong) but want to reiterate that we should not have ICE at all

losing my mind at the "she should have followed directions" people

really? really? you're cool with "if you don't follow directions, they get to kill you"? that seems like a good state of affairs to you? that seems like how law enforcement ought to work: instant obeisance or death?

If you’re looking for some way to help.
ICE observers in the Twin Cities are in need of dash cams to prevent further intimidation and frivolous claims.

Cams are $110, memory cards $35, and ship to us directly via this wish list: www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/...

If you've been looking for a way to help, we'd sure appreciate it!

I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.

Should have obeyed

Shouldnt have dressed like that

Shouldn’t have been there

Shouldn’t have existed
If your response to the murder is that she should have listened to their demands, I need you to understand that you are a ghoul and no one will ever love you.

not to go all identity politics but I think it’s also because the victims are women
one takeaway from the grok noncon porn thing is that much of the media just isn't interested in an issue they can't pretend has two sides or that doesn't give them an opportunity to shit on the left. Also it would be uncomfortable to justify remaining on twitter after acknowledging it

Ana is talking about a really important thing here, IMO. My lab is actually working on some research re: trans discourse, and the dragging in of past personal conflicts, the creation of a mythology around them, looks to be a key way we hurt each other, and how others then swoop in and take advantage
I’m going to reactivate quickly to say something, then I’m out again:

A lot of the harassment going on this week is a circular firing squad. It’s trans women yelling at other trans women and then dragging in personal beefs aimed at those trans women which upsets more trans women

We must speak plainly: The attack succeeded.
But the attack failed because of the courage of public servants who gave proof through the night that our flag was still there by refusing to bend to pressure, threats, or intimidation. On that day, the Constitution held and we kept the Republic.

If anyone who considers themselves a "leftist" ever wonders why those supposedly on the left keep losing elections, maybe consider the following:
Why is the side supposed to be known for promoting freedom so fucking puritanical? "We can ignore genocide, but a trans woman being wrong is too far!"

You can’t yell at the president. You can’t yell at JKR. You can’t yell at the New York Times. You can’t yell at the fossil fuel industry. Even if you could, they wouldn’t give a shit.

But you can yell at Parker Molloy or Isabel Fall or Ana Valens or Mallorie Malcontent or Natalie Reed or whoever.

Ana Valens, Parker Molloy, Sky Marchini -- all trans/NB people chased off this supposedly trans-friendly site in the past 48 hours. Not by right-wingers but by people with whom their values likely 90 percent overlap. That's in addition to the Starfish incident. "Solidarity", indeed.
if this continues, you're going to wake up with no trans journalists because you've chased them all off.

Understanding politics means understanding that those people should be driven from public life and spend the next decades in fear of having their shameful past uncovered, so I'm not particularly worried they aren't here to call me slurs.
