We're watching Ponies and it's made me realise why I didn't enjoy Murder Before Evensong. I absolutely fucking hated the 1970s.

My wife's watching the latest installment of her dragon, blood, tits show and says the first thing she saw was a massive, floppy cock and all I have to look forward to is Nigella on Bake Off.

I think at this point the UK has accepted Paddington as the Death Bear, collector of souls. So, I think as a nation we should start smearing marmalade on the eyes of the dead and whisper “fare for the crossing”. It’ll feel weird now but, in three of four generations, no one will question it.

As a Scotsman, I'm reminded of The Blood Donor sketch, where the well-spoken Scottish doctor informs Hancock that we're not all Rob Roys.
I had to check if this was real...

What in the name of Scotch fuck?

I spent some quality time with a large group of pink cockatoos (formerly called Major Mitchell cockatoos) at Kinchega NP on Saturday morning.
I rarely see these special birds - so it was a very nice encounter that will rank up there amongst my top birding experiences.

My long lost friend, the one who reached out to my former client to track me down, has finally checked his spam folder and replied. We haven't spoken in a decade and he is just as batshit as he used to be. He's gone from photojournalism to becoming a mad cat man. Love it.

Actual detective work. Great stuff.
you’ve both reminded me of this, which I once posted on the old site - one of the finest scenes of a crime partially solved through a sensible order of business. From Ealing’s The Long Arm.

Fabulous jingle on local radio today. Just a group of women singing, "Pommel, pomme, pomme de terre. Pomme, pomme, pomme de terre!" Absolutely here for a song about potatoes.

I was really intrigued when I first saw smart glasses. Internet assistance and live language translation on the fly? Amazing. Actual future tech I could use! Then, of course, those guys decided to use them for harassment and perving. Fucking typical.

HELP REQUEST: Would anyone who speaks Spanish and English be up for sense-checking some subtitles on a short film (<15 minutes) please? I have no budget, I'm afraid - it's a short LGBTQ+ film in English, and it's been accepted into a festival in Spain.
