After hard months away I have finally started writing again. Idk if this will be finished or turned into anything but have some absurdist theater, a mode I’ve been out of for too long.

WOMAN:
I am not a documentarian.
I am not trying to portray The Truth.
I am trying to portray something which is
Emotionally True,
to me.

WOMAN:
Which is to say,
watch this:

[The woman pulls a gun from her pocket, sticks it in her mouth, and pulls the trigger. A spurt of blood and brains from the rafters, as if they were the back of a skull. The woman and her chair fall backwards from the force. Somehow, she executes a somersault as she falls and hops to her feet, like a Gene Wilder Willy Wonka in reverse.]

WOMAN:
I don’t mean to be so glib.
It’s just, you know.
[She begins to mop up the blood.]
Maybe it’s more like, uh:

[An antelope carcass drops from the ceiling with a wet thud. A pack of baby hyenas bound giddily from the wings and descend on the carcass. They tear the antelope apart until the blood won’t come out of the stage, or their fur. They then drag the wet ruin off backstage right.]
