There was an NPR story from over the summer about a Pakistani immigrant who bought a Stuckey's outside Kansas City at a truck stop and started serving Halal only to discover that long-haul truckers love them some spicy chicken!

People forget that! I've lived in the South my whole adult life, and every nursing home I've worked at has the absolutely worst juju imaginable due to the combo of mostly white residents who were adults during Jim Crow+young mostly black staff. The history's a physical presence in the room with you

The cake was baked for any potential Trump 2.0 admin when Trump decided he only wanted the most wretchedly slavish loyalists he could scrabble together.

Everything since his return to power is the result of that.
The final stages of the cupboard going bare occurred between Trump's first electoral defeat and Trump's second electoral victory.

He mercilessly shoved aside competent ppl for not being 110% full MAGA insurrectionist during the election theft attempt and in the eventual 2024 GOP primary.

Oh that's coming. But when it does come, it's going to be the end of this pathetic regime. Because they aren't competent enough to keep anything remotely close to majority support or get the military on-side.

So when they start really shooting, they're gonna end up like Yanukovich.
i basically assumed they would cut this gordian knot by shooting people
With a completely kleptokakistocratic GOP elite, there's no one to actually dot the i's and cross the t's. The trains are not gonna run on time. The daily work of basic fucking governance is falling apart at the seams.

And all because there literally almost no competent person Trump can hire.

This is more or less exactly the level of total fucking incompetence I expected from Election Night onward.

While the specific incidents are hilariously randumb, the fact is that Trump chased almost every minimally competent professional away from the possibility of working in his second admin.
I'm surprised they're as bad as they are, for certain, I didn't expect Bill Barr 2.0 but I expected a higher quality of skullduggery than this transparent horse shit

I was genuinely wondering how long it would take them to resort to outright fabricating legal documents in easily verifiable ways.

After all, competent people with better things to do don't work in this admin.
Uhhhhh holy shit though

@kenwhite.bsky.social do you generally recommend that a client fabricate grand jury records (at least in part) in order to rush out an indictment before the statute of limitations hits in order to please Dear Leader?
