Future us will look back and realise that the countries who figure out how to manage and use immigration for our benefit are the ones which did the best.
I've felt many things as a "pro-immigration fanatic". Anger at the hate, division and bs spread by likes of the Telegraph mainly, but never "humiliation". The evidence is clear, and global, people move, people have always moved, people will always move, and that is an overwhelmingly positive thing.
Why's old froggy leaning even further to the right?
There’s literally past ministers and Tory MPs standing next to you.

I think this should give us some hope that our systems are holding up in this unprecedentedly hostile environment. We need to remember to vote for the honest and not the selfish.
This is preying on my mind a bit. Jeffrey Epstein was not primarily a British scandal! So far we've removed a Prince from the Royal family, fired our US ambassador who was one of the most important political figures of the last few decades and banned the CEO of Barclays from the financial industry..
One by one, Europeans mentioned in the Epstein files who still hold political office are beginning to resign or are being forced out of office.

Meanwhile, ruled by an administration almost entirely made up of Epstein associates, the US carries on as if nothing really happened.

Certainly on the edge of something.
Rep. Mark Harris: "It's a media-driven message to try to see doom and gloom. But we're seeing a growth in this economy, and I think people are on the edge of feeling it."

I concur. I'm a living exemplar. Steroid skin is hilarious, especially if you use your hands for *anything*.
This looks to me like a regular, fresh bruise from a cannula, on older thinner skin, esp someone on blood thinners or steroids. Source: trust me bro

The biggest leverage that the US has over Europe is our dependence on imports of gas. This makes our transition to renewable energy and electrification of the grid more important than ever. The most important thing for UK security is building as much renewable capacity as possible immediately.

The amount of heat required to maintain a house at a certain temperature is determined by the rate of heat loss at that temperature.

The priority is to improve insulation - it's the dominant factor in heating cost.

Do heat pumps and solar at the same time but insulation will save the most.
Hugely welcome money for UK fuel poverty, with a shift from insulation, towards solar PV, heat pumps, batteries as most cost-effective way to cut bills for low-income households

But UK has draughtiest homes & fewest heat pumps in Europe, so is it moving fast enough?

BLANCHE: What happened has been reviewed by millions of Americans bc it was recorded. We investigate when it's appropriate. That is not the case here. We are not going to bow to pressure. So no, we are not investigating.

There's a lot to do to ensure true European sovereignty: bank technology, computer operating systems, internet browsers, cloud storage, network hardware. That's before we talk about eliminating US defence systems.
Trump’s tariffs and threats mean it’s make your mind up time. If we can’t rely on America and we don’t want to cozy up to China, the answer is to get serious about our strategic future with Europe. NATO needs this too - the reset must be real, and it must happen quickly for all our sakes.
