One of my far left opinions is the stock market being more accessible to everyone accelerated and expanded this.

People are more detached from their income and morality doesn't even play into it. People focus on speculation instead of work or a product.
One of my most conservative-coded opinions is that one of the reasons we're in this mess is because of the profound decadence, solipsism, moral rot, and general lack of personal virtue afflicting much of the upper PMC / bourgeoisie.

The only real harm I've seen from Ms. Rachel is this guy who said his daughter kept dumping things all over his house, and he couldn't figure out why.

Maybe it's just me, but it looks like guy operating the hose looks like he's really enjoying himself.
HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

I'm sure this is because he's smart and not a side effect or doing a ton of ketamine (a dissociative).
Flawless logic, sir! Makes perfect sense that because video games are improving, we must live in a simulation!

When Obama was president, we were told to hide our ID badges so that we didn't get assaulted.

A guy flew his plane into an IRS building, and top Republican leaders all were like "I don't condone it, but I understand." That guy also lit his house on fire with his wife and kid in it.

The non-Trump supporters always look dissociated in these clips. Their eyes are glazed, with a half smile.
Trump on Mamdani: "I think he's gonna surprise some conservative people, actually. And some very liberal people he won't surprise because they already like him."

I know it's probably deep in the weeds, but I wish that any quote from a Booth School professor had a caveat that their opinion will not help you unless you are in the top 5%.

We've been "cutting the red tape" and I think we're about to see what happens when we remove the economy's guardrails.

I'm not sure why, but I really hate automated messages that say "friendly reminder." I'm sure some like the politeness, but I don't need it in automation.

It's wild that food can be grown in South America, shipped to Asia for packaging, and then I buy it in my local heb for like $2.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Haven't seen the documentary, but this was such a huge deal then and still comes up in conversation time to time.

4 teenage girls murdered when the city had a population of 400,000. Austin was a college town with state government headquarters.
i’m watching THE YOGURT SHOP MURDERS on hbo and it is yet another reminder that police are very bad at solving crimes where there isn’t an immediate and obvious suspect, and even then! (also, watching these detectives coerce an innocent person into a false confession…)

I respect anyone who can make money this way. They deserve every cent for finding this market.
