PTFC, the Beavs, and Tottenham Hotspur in no particular order. Enjoyer of trains. Resident of Portland.
It’s awesome seeing football at Providence Park and it was a pretty good crowd! Would be great to see the day that Portland State plays every game here and fields a decent team in the process…

In Japan, tourism to Portland, Oregon, is promoted by a grinning blue monster named Odnarodude. He’s at a Portland artisan event in Jiyugaoka De Aone this weekend.

can tell trimet is bursting at the seams a bit today but when you need to get 10% of the city to downtown all at once there’s really no one else up to the task ✊
I wouldn’t be surprised if TriMet breaks a post-pandemic record for ridership today

When Dems push amendments like this to try to win R votes and get none while being blasted for not compromising, all we do is shift the Overton window to the right.

When the caucus approves the bill anyways despite the bad amendments, it shows Rs they can concede nothing and still win.
This week, I voted to oppose the -18 Amendment to HB 3991 in the Joint Special Session Committee on Transportation Funding. I vow as a legislator to continue to fight for long term stable funding for this critical social service that serves the 1 in 4 Oregonians who can't or don't drive. #orleg

I was just at 20th and Everett speaking with some people opposed to removing these pedestrian safety measures when I witnessed a car nearly hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Clearly we need more traffic calming, not less! Proud of the community for stepping up.

Man, hate to see this. I ride the Max and bus lines all the time, and it deserves more funding, not less. Without a growing Max service, we'll just see more car congestion, more money sunk into needless car infrastructure, and a worse city experience overall. Can't find parking? Fund the damn trains

THIS IS THE HIGHEST URGENCY - a transportation bill could pass Oregon Legislature today that funds only ODOT - no safety, no transit, no cities and counties.

The internet giving people access to networks of other people who don’t have to deal with them directly everyday and so have no disincentive to encourage their worst impulses is at the root of so many modern problems.
I think a lot of the terror of the modern age can be understood by the fact that the Internet accelerated the development of the worst type of person, the "Anti-Intellectual Nerd."

trimet’s proposed “teal line” that would follow the green line along 205 and then run to pdx is a much better way to address airport traffic imo
It's "the next major landside investment that we'll do," says Port of Portland Planner Aaron Ray.
Port eyes 82nd Avenue expansion for airport traffic increase
They estimate the expansion would cost $119 million.

Today, the caucus with a super minority in the lower chamber of the Oregon Legislature released their transportation proposal. I am going to hone in on their plans to drastically cut public transit funding.

Their plan is unpopular, bad for Oregon, and acutely bad for rural Oregon.

A thread...
