* 60 journalists were arrested during BLM protests

* SPLC has a whole section called "civil rights martyrs"

* They literally dropped a bomb on Black people in Philadelphia in the 60s. The National Guard has been deployed in NYC subways for over a year.

* Martial law was threatened during BLM.

One of, if not the most, important thing you can do in electoral politics is get involved in the primaries against these fools
Trump admitted on Thursday evening that his administration is “not at all” deescalating its immigration raids in Minneapolis, confirming that his administration’s pledges to do so were lies, just hours after Senate Democrats folded on negotiations to prevent a government shutdown.
Trump Admits He Is “Not at All” Deescalating ICE Raids After Democrats Fold on Government Shutdown
The statement came hours after Trump celebrated a deal with Schumer to avoid a shutdown.

ICE has been in the northwest Bronx for the last 2 days, in and around Van Cortlandt Park/the end of the 1 train. To the west of the park is Riverdale, which is one of the richer, whiter neighborhoods in the city. Whistles are blowing.

Don't think ICE won't come to your hood because they will.

We already have a warrant requirement. It's called the US Constitution. If that's not fucking binding them, what the hell does your little agreement mean?
Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the party agreed on three main goals:

° Require warrants in some cases and ICE coordination with state and local law enforcement

° Create a code of conduct and enforce it

° Require agents to wear body cams and not masks
Democrats demand new ICE restrictions as government shutdown looms
After federal agents shot and killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, Senate Democrats say they’ll block a massive government funding package without policy changes.

👩🏿Thank you! And cops that brutalize and kill Black folk should not have immunity from prosecution either! End it!

I’m still somewhat upset that people tried to debunk our memories of this trauma last year.

And I think about Holocaust denialism now and think how many people are already turning away from what we see is going on.
Today is the 40th anniversary of the space shuttle Challenger disaster, and I still vividly remember being confused and traumatized alongside my classmates.

I think about these kids being terrorized by ICE, and I think that trauma will also stay with them well into adulthood. It's unforgivable.
Something important to understand about ICE thugs in the Twin Cities is that they're harassing innocent kids and parents at bus stops and schools every single day. Even after the Pretti shooting. It's terrorism.

this is explicitly forbidden by the fourth amendment, there should not need to be "guidance" because it is IN THE CONSTITUTION & in fact the drafters used these exact examples in constructing the amendment
ICE has been authorizing officers to forcibly enter homes without judicial warrants—a reversal of longstanding guidance to protect people's constitutional rights.

Senior reporter @samanthamichaels.bsky.social spoke with a family in Memphis that experienced this.

I hope that not only do they do that, but that they make sure not to let any of their horrible peers evade the consequences of their choices. There's room at Nuremberg for all of them.

oh they are going to rip each other to shreds as it becomes clear that the country has decisively turned against them
Genuinely interesting. Kristi Noem is snitching that Stephen Miller is the one who made up the bullshit about Alex Pretti.

It would be genuinely useful if Congress can get her to admit that he has been dictating ALL OF THIS just like he dictated the murderboats.

If you want to know what I want Democrats to do, please look at everything the GOP has done to fuck shit up when it was the minority party and copy and paste those tactics.
I want Democrats to use every lever at their disposal to shut things down. They have the power to obstruct and gum up the works, the only thing stopping them is outdated norms.

People are being executed in the streets and if elected Dems aren't prepared to do dramatic things, they can fuck off.
What do y’all expect Dems to do? Undo the Big Beautiful budget bill (that the GOP majority passed)? Even if Dems hold up the budget resolution and shut down the govt, DHS and ICE will continue to operate. So what, exactly, can they do as the minority party?
