One of my favorite power plants. Very photogenic.
Why why why does NYC tolerate the selling, everywhere, of “skinless hotdogs.” Absolutely gross. No snap.

I’m not a play guy at all but I loved this movie a lot
BLUE MOON is written as a play- a single night in the life of a talented, sad, tortured writer who doesn't know he is going from celebrated talent to footnote in history. It is some of Ethan's best work EVER, and Rick Linklater's best movie in years (and I *LOVE* all his recent work.) F'N BRILLIANT.

The equivalent of IKEA or your local grocery being able to completely rearrange the store before each time you visit; they know what you’re shopping for, and how to make it just hard enough to find that you’ll be engaged without leaving.
is there a reason why every single paid streaming service UI has only gotten incredibly worse and less usable over time

“Ladies and gentlemen… flat butt”
"Hobgoblins" is a weird one for MST3K because they usually didn't go after movies intentionally trying to go for "so bad they're good" infamy. In this case, however, they were like, "you know what? Fuck you and your film." It's them at their meanest and the director deserves it.
Quite possibly the worst movie ever riffed, worse than Manos, is up now on the MST3K Turkey Day Marathon. It’s Hobgoblins and man is it terrible!

Astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy captured skydiver Gabe Brown falling across the sun in this precisely planned aircraft alignment, solar altitude, and jump, resulting in the striking image “The Fall of Icarus.”

Seeing people on the subway all scarfed up when it’s 40 degrees is mighty funny

Kevin Spacey’s character’s dog in Margin Call doesn’t know it’s pretending to be dying and this upsets me for some reason.

The damned in hell are not more powerful for the fact that the fires do not consume them; it is part and parcel of their torment.

Train Dreams, so far, is Tree of Life/Revenant levels of Dude Movie. I’m a huge sucker for beautifully shot westerns. Some shots almost directly stolen from Jesse James. It’s good, is what I’m saying.

For a timeline cleanse, here is the front of Macy's on the 34th Street side last night during a rare moment after a long wait without any vehicles. Definitely tap this and turn it horizontally for full-size and it will fit your entire device. I hope you are having a great day!

If you can handle tragic doom, The Indifferent Stars Above, about the Donner Party, is enthralling and should be a movie
Ok BlueSky: what are your favorite history books in terms of sheer page-turning, narrative propulsion? Thinking along the line of Killers of the Flower Moon, etc. Nonfiction chronicles that read like novels or movies.

happy sunday, remember that you are completely expendable to your employer and that when you die they will forget you ever existed within weeks and easily replace you
