How to explain AI to your family this holiday season | CNN Business
Politics, football and movies are among the many topics that tend to come up around Thanksgiving. In 2025, a new question may arise at the table: Why the heck is everyone talking about AI, and what sh...

For the Disability community, losing Alice Wong is like losing Ursula Le Guin or Octavia Butler. She was a powerhouse, a pioneer, and a mentor to many. She taught me so much. And always reminded me what we were fighting towards, as well as against. I miss her clarity, bravery, and joy.
Alice Wong
Alice Wong had an outsized impact on Disability justice. As a community organiser, activist, mentor, and co-conspirator, as writer, editor, and friend, she is irreplaceable.

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

We love to feed folks.
The logistics of this have been a RIDE.
Like it started with this generous teacher who put out a call for help for her class and this guy she knew from college was like, "Sure. I can put some food in my Hyundai Elantra."

Now there are volunteers, a foundation, and Costco lore.

Join us! Feed kids!

This is so offensive I don’t even know where to start.

“Vote blue no matter who and also shut the fuck up when those people betray you.”

Nope.

We will primary every senator who doesn’t call for Schumer to step down in the next 24 hours.

You work for us.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Just slamming my head against something till I pass out because we are so so very screwed...by ourselves. (blaming those 8 is stupid, they would not have been allowed to do it without leadership support)
These people dont understand that in many parts of the country, people really do think the Democrats are to blame for what’s happening— thanks to effective propoganda.
Incredible

Dems who don't come out against this TODAY or at least TOMORROW are all absolutely dead to me.

I'm a 49 yo white woman, but I will fight every one of you in the street if you ever try to visit the Napa Valley.

I'll be waiting. You dumb assholes.

Holy cow I'm so furious. Whoo.

Furious.

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

Fucking disgusting. The end of the Democratic party.

Dead. Done.
Under Schumer's leadership, eight Democrats (Cortez Masto, Durbin, Fetterman, Hassan, Kaine, King, Rosen, & Shaheen) joined the Republicans in moving forward a bill to reopen the government without ACA subsidies—Dems' stated key aim—or any other real concessions from the status before the shutdown.

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Here’s my my pitch for why you care about your state attorney general.

The entire conservative judicial machine *depends* on conservative state attorney generals.

John Roberts can’t take a case asking to destroy voting rights if a state attorney generals doesn’t bring it.
