C'mere #SpéirGorm and #SpéirGhorm, might anybody have any leads on a Dublin-based admin-y type job? Ideally with a charity or nonprofit but really anywhere that kind of makes the world a better place? #JobFairy

When God closes a door He opens a window. This drives me NUTS. Terrible roommate. The electric bill is outrageous. There's a bird's nest in the bathroom

D'you reckon these protestors know that there's a song called We All Stand Together sung by a bunch of cartoon frogs? Seems like that would be an incredibly apt theme song for them.

Come on man. Don't be the "Hey I took your funny thing that people are enjoying and made it better!" guy.

Turns out that when Americans said "If it weren't for us you'd be speaking German now..." their objection was to learning a second language, not fascism.

Ohmygod Ohmygod OHMYGOD! These slippers are in the top three best presents I ever got and I thought I'd lost them ages ago and I just found them and I'm giddy! Look at them!! When you wear them you can use your toes to make his tongue waggle!

Fucking hell, I needed this uncomplicated joy today.
A pair of slippers on the arm of a couch. They are in the likeness of a white man with a white beard, glasses, and his tongue sticking out. The writing on the inside of the slippers confirm his identity...it is Sigmund Freud. These are Freudian Slippers.

Please help my friends if you can. They have already lost a son (Jamal's twin) who didn't survive infancy, being born 15 days before October 7th. Losing Jamal too would be too cruel.

To be fair, words in Irish are pronounced exactly as they are spelled....if you speak Irish. It's only confusing if you're trying to pronounce them in English.

If the right-wing wants nobody to say anything bad about them when they die, then clearly all they need do is start acting a lot more like #DollyParton

Some independent Irish bookshops you can support rather than Amazon. And most offer free postage in 🇮🇪too.

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

Voters: "The EU Parliament doesn't really seem to do anything, seems kinda useless"

EU Parliament: "Oh yeah? Could a useless parliament do this?!" *pants fall down, trips over, falls into orchestra pit and gets stuck head first in a tuba*

It’s a "crisis" when immigrants "take jobs away", but "innovation" when machines do. Funny.

Are Tesco condoning - nay encouraging! - shockingly anti- social vandalism? Well I never!

A Tesco ad on the side of a bus stop. Below a picture of a fried egg are a bunch of other uses for eggs including scrambled, quiche, a spoon race. At the bottom left of the list it says "on your teacher's door"

Holy fucking shit my landlord just came over to "do some tidying in the garden" and he just threw out a load of potted plants that were in the back. Like a LOT. Legally we can just inform him we're taking the value of them out the rent, right?

And why is it means tested based on your partner's income if you cohabitate? I am disabled and can't work and yet I can't marry or even live with my partner of almost four years or I'll be forced to depend on his income which, through no fault of his, is not large enough to support two people.
melissabreen.bsky.social
The Basic Income for the Arts Scheme is €325 a week, similar to what they gave out during the pandemic. This is how much they've deemed one needs in order to live in Ireland. So why is disability benefit only €244? Why are disabled and sick people expected to live so far below the poverty line?
