He wants the money and there's no mechanism to stop him. That's just how it is.
5242 hours? Lmao that's just obvious fraud. He's saying he worked more than 14 hours a day every single day of the year, and no he didn't, he'd be fucking dead.
I know this from researching police salaries for a recent paper: many cities have a set of officers taking home more than $500k and they can’t really explain why

2. Money.
I wonder if the New York Times will go after any of the prominent academics in the Epstein files for being rapists as hard as they went after Claudine Gay for being kind of sloppy with citations in her graduate thesis.

If not, why not?
Here’s Duke behavioral economist Dan Ariely asking Jeffrey Epstein for “the name and email of the redhead that was here with you.” This is four years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for procuring a child for prostitution.

While that is true, this is a different blend of anti-semitism.
They used "anti-semitism" as a pretext to deport foreign-born students and chill free speech, and their deportation chief -- the one with the nonstandard Hugo Boss-style greatcoat -- was spouting anti-semitic insults at a US attorney

It's well known that it is much cheaper for large businesses to donate to the GOP than to pay taxes. This is just an extension of that.
NEW: In August, the nursing home industry gave Trump's Super PAC $5M and had a private lunch with him at his golf course.

They asked him to repeal a rule that would have increased nursing home staffing.

i'm sorry but what are you talking about

Alex Pretti was literally shot by CBP, on the most direct possible level that point alone would have prevented his death

and requiring warrants for arrests would ABSOLUTELY protect people from abduction, the lack of warrant is what makes it an abduction

Absolutely reprehensible that AG Bondi is offering ICE stand down in exchange for access to voting rolls. Outrageous and disgusting. It shows ICE is in Minneapolis is not for law enforcement purposes. Instead it’s a way to stir up shit in blue states and extort them.
In the wake of another fatal shooting in Minneapolis.

"Allow DOJ Civil Rights division access to state voter rolls"

This is true, but the solution is fairly straightforward: Spend tens of billions of dollars buying up media sources.

The GOP didn't just work the refs, they bought them.
A long term structural problem I see is that almost no matter what happens and even if we reclaim democracy and even if we get accountability we will still be stuck with a rigged information environment that dramatically benefits Republicans

we live in a sick society that thinks preventing problems is a waste of time and effort and hey, guess why everything sucks now

Nah. History repeats for a reason.
If you wrote a novel about how "it can happen here" and had fascist paramilitaries carrying out a pogrom and giving themselves participation awards with skulls and carrion birds on them, you'd be panned for being hyperbolic and unrealistic
Demonstrators apparently retrieved from the cars belonging to ICE these "challenge coins" that ICE mercenaries receive when they carry out arrests.

This one is decorated with a skull wearing a crown.

The tech industry has no better friend in its drive for deregulation and tax avoidance around the world than Donald Trump. His bullying has led countries to give up their sovereign power to safeguard the public interest. And now Big Tech is asking for more. From me:
