This thread is something I have worried about around separate things like VR and Utility and the crowd pacification problem for some time. AI just makes it more obvious.
So, the newest video generation AI from Google makes stuff that I can't tell from reality. Separate from the obvious freakiness here, something that interests me is how much of the potential badness of this is, in fact, already here.

For example, suppose you go to TikTok.
Entire sections of America are embracing being evil villains that have no other aim than to hurt people for fun.

If I were god-emperor of America, I would apportion part of what we earmark for defense and national security for public education and libraries.

But what about private institutions, you ask. My response? Fuck them niggas. Education is a public good.

Deeply disturbing confessions from Heritage. Creating new accreditors like CPHE is simply part of their Plan B. Plan A is to eliminate federal funding and oversight, and turn higher ed into a cesspool of unaccountable charter schools and state patronage schemes. 👎

Thousands of institutions abandoned programs, ended or rewrote scholarships, closed down clubs and publications, all in pre-emptive compliance.

And you know why?

Mostly because they wanted to do it if they thought they could blame someone else for it.

I thought Aaron Rupar's comment was a hyperbolic joke. However, it is literally what this asshole is saying. A yellow star. A *yellow star*.

I don't know if these dickheads don't know their history, or if they very much do. Either answer is terrifying.

It is estimated that 762,000 people have *already died* as a result of Elon Musk and Russell Vought’s obscene murder of USAID, including more than 500,000 children.

HELLO I WAS A QUEER TEEN IN THE 1990s AND THE ARGUMENTS AGAINST SOCIAL TRANSITION NOW ARE INDISTINGUISHABLE FROM THE ARGUMENTS AGAINST "LETTING" US BE (at the time, for me) GAY OR LESBIAN THEN.

They all rest on the belief that it's inherently better to be straight (then)/cis (now) and that's BS.
Hilary Cass here arguing for children to be prevented from being known by a preferred name or getting a haircut in case it encourages them to continue later in life to transition.

The Dow was at 43,488 when Trump took office. It just hit 50,000.

So if you had invested $43,488 in the US, you would now have $50,000. But if you had invested the same amount in the rest of the world, you would now be worth $60,000.

Anyone who voted “Trump” the third time voted knowingly for a traitor and should not be allowed to vote. Most of them are men.

If anything men should have to offer evidence women don’t need to offer before being allowed to vote.
