She's 100% right. "Overrated" is not the same as "bad".

People should rent or buy based on the value propositions of each, but people feel like they "have to" buy to have a complete life or because it's an "investment" rather than a consumable good.

Liberals need to recognize this too, though I think we all pretty much do. The trick is figuring out how to persuade people that, no, I don't want to do a communism just because I think solar energy is good or whatever.

Why is it not FOSS if it's based on Google open sourcing the code? Isn't the only thing preventing it a willingness on the part of your team to make it FOSS?

If I switched, it would partially be for the convenience of a dedicated app. I saw that it was open source now, and apparently this is passion-driven by a hobbyist, so hoping that means little in the way of telemetry or data storing.
