I am not much for post apocalyptic games these days, but the Bakers could put out a new edition every year and I would buy it.

Apocalypse World is responsible for fostering curiosity and inspiring confidence in so many designers. It helped build an era for games incredibly rich with creativity.

You should really support this game!
an excerpt from James' book: "Some exercises call you to roll 2d6 and provide different actions based on results of 10 or greater, 7–9, and 6 or less. This mechanic is adapted from the Powered by the Apocalypse system developed by Vincent and Meguey Baker for their game Apocalypse World. Some of this book’s exercises grant bonuses to these rolls based on your answers to yes or no questions. This innovation was developed by Brandon Leon-Gambetta for his game Pasión de las Pasiones."

I was a history teacher for more than 30 years. Happily, I retired before the current move to erase history took hold. In my classroom were students whose families had fled the Khmer Rouge, whose ancestors had been enslaved, whose parents were forced to flee when the ayatollah took over in Iran. My own parents were Holocaust survivors. These horrific events happened. My students saw images of swastikas and representations of the Trail of Tears, the forced displacement of Native Americans. They listened to Billie Holiday sing "Strange Fruit," a song about lynchings in the South. In the safe environment of my classroom, where we all knew each other and had built a framework of trust, students moved beyond the trauma and learned to be comfortable with discomfort, to understand the world better and live in it more productively and more proactively. You guys realize that taxing people to pay for services isn't socialism, right? This is just how governments work.
Who is Wilson? She does not own a car. She lives in a rented 600-square-foot apartment with her husband and two-year-old daughter. By her own account, she depends on checks from her parents back east to cover expenses. To let them off the hook, she seeks to force residents of Seattle to pay for “free” child care and other goodies.

I was suspended from BlueSky for defending the honor of Johnny Cash. I wish I were joking. In early October, I referenced the "I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die" lyric of "Folsom Prison Blues" in response to a terrible Wall Street Journal article saying that Johnny Cash was uncool. I quote-tweeted the article and everyone understood the reference. There was no outcry. I stand by my assessment that Johnny Cash is cool. I do not like being the subject of so much attention, especially when I cannot see the discussion. But the BlueSky admins are now claiming that I wrote a post saying, out of nowhere, "I want to shoot the author of this article just to watch him die". They are not posting a screenshot of the actual tweet, which shows that I am quote-tweeting an article about Johnny Cash, and that my post is obviously not a threat but a play on "Folsom Prison Blues." BlueSky is lying and saying I posted this line on November 10. I did not. I posted it in early October, when the WS) article came out. You can see that they are lying about the date from this page showing my last BlueSky tweets: I was not given any explanation for my suspension the first two times l inquired. Later I was told it was for the "Folsom Prison Blues" reference, and I asked for clarification but did not receive it. I thought it might be a prank until a reporter reached out this morning and confirmed it. BlueSky's behavior is bizarre and unwarranted. I have lost access to friends and all my posts and photos. I am incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support here on Substack and also on BlueSky - though I cannot see it, because I am suspended. To quote another Johnny Cash song: "I ain't never done nothin' to nobody/ I ain't never got nothin from nobody, no time/ And until I get somethin' from somebody, sometime, I don't intend to do nothin' for nobody, no time." As for BlueSky...
