Cast your doubts about house music -
You got the body, so why don't you use it?
Naturally swinging your thing to the song,
Cause that's how we pump the dancefloor for the strong.

Hot take incoming: we should amend the Constitution to remove the requirement that the president be a "natural-born" US citizen, because that legally establishes two classes of citizenship, even if only for two offices. 1/

The cool thing about Trump and Putin continuing to gang up on the Ukrainians is that no normal person is deceived by this shit. History will not absolve them. They will be remembered as evil motherfuckers and people will piss on their graves.

a nice thing you can do when leaving a house party is pick a random person who seems hazy memories drunk but not blackout, put your hands on their shoulders, look them in the eyes and tell them Hey, Your Secret Is Safe With Me. just so they're not worried about their secret for the rest of the night

One thing they never tell you about getting old is that you start seeing people who you think you recognize, only to realize that the person you thought they were looked like that 20 years ago.

They have no conception of a post-Trump era where this sort of asinine brazening-through stops working with a majority of the electorate. Which makes them exceedingly dangerous.

SCHMITT: I'm not familiar w/ the facts or circumstances

S: What do you mean you're not familiar? It's been front page news

There are so many people living lives of quiet dignity despite horrific medical news or poverty or tragedy where every day they still wake up and try to be good people in the world even as the world pushes against them and it makes me even angrier at the absolute shitheads that rule over things

We got here by letting the outcome determine what the law must say. Trump was clearly ineligible in '24 per the 14th Amendment. And yet, SCOTUS (and elite opinion in general) couldn't tolerate the idea that a popular candidate might be constitutionally barred, so they made up a Calvinball rule.
"the government should try, convict and then kill the secretary of defense for the crime he very obviously seems to have committed" seems like a radical thing to say, but -- no, it's not. it's the actual penalty for what pete hegseth, a man who ordered death squads to murder civilians, has done.

"Democracy" and "free speech," in the mouth of a reactionary, is invariably a disgusting lie, and we need to start saying so aggressively.

Got to start talking about "court reform" now. "Republicans in robes", "corruption". Not "packing" or "expanding".

Start framing the discussion now.

We know that...

Let's crack down on illegal immigration by legalizing everyone who wants to come here.
What if:

Immigration is actually really beneficial to a country and helps secure its future prosperity and long term health of its culture and isn’t a really bad thing like all those rich sociopaths who moved to Dubai say it is?
Guys, guys, guys:

what if we provide asylum to lots of refugees so that when the conflict in their homeland ends and economic reconstruction begins we have lots of social links to that country that allow us to forge mutually beneficial economic partnerships with it?

Median Western voter:

(a) I do not care at all if our policies destabilize a country in the developing world

(b) I do not want to see any money spent or soldiers sent to stop any country from destabilizing

(c) I do not want one refugee fleeing the destabilized country to ever move here ever

We have made a mistake (I suspect from Reaganism and the time we spent in that wilderness) of framing everything in terms of financial success or failure instead of Right and Wrong. The New Deal, the most sweeping economic legislation in American history, was framed not economically but morally.
best way to put it is that they're on track for a huge thermostatic backlash but not a political regime shift (yet)
My takeaway from last night is that Republicans are in deep trouble next year but even a D+10-12 political environment in 2026 feels pretty underwhelming all things considered.

They’re looting the country and have Gestapo agents kidnapping people and states like Iowa still probably won’t flip.

We have yet to unpack the scandal that is Mrs. Pete Hegseth, but mark my words, some absolutely terrifying shit is coming.
[Q]:
If you could host a dinner party with three people dead or alive, who's coming to the table and what are you eating?

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth:

I think it would be President Trump, Vladimir Putin and Zelenskyy. See what happens. See what happens.
What are we eating?

The trick to quality news coverage is to subvert expectations. Why are you so sure that Hitler was bad? Maybe it’s ok for the US military to double tap fishing boats for shits and giggles. Put peas in the hummus. Wint was right about candles. Do we need so many doors?

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

One problem with becoming SecDef after an undistinguished military career is that everyone of consequence whom you'll be trying to order around outranks you militarily, and knows it.
Kelly: He runs around on stage talking about lethality and the warrior ethos.. That’s not the message that should be coming from the Secretary of Defense… He runs around on a stage like he’s a 12 year old playing army. It’s embarrassing.

Gentle reminder….

Grace is for AFTER someone takes accountability.

It’s not to be given before they do so. And it damn sure shouldn’t be used instead of.

When you give grace without accountability then you’re just condoning the behavior.
