I noticed whenever a show/movie decides to have these quiet, introspective moments like in Eternals, The Acolyte, or even Andor, that’s when people decide to call it “slow” or poorly written. It’s like no, you’ve just conditioned yourself to see action moments as the only valid thing.

israel's sui generis nature as a country, which does make it rather different from /all/ these cases, is that it claims the right to govern territory (in this case I mean the west bank and gaza) without claiming the inhabitants as its citizens. i dont actually know of any other cases of this
Except they didn't, really. All of the major Euro nations still have overseas possessions (or client states which were once possessions), Central and South American countries have nearly as contentious relationships with their indigenous population as the US, Australia, Canada, and NZ do, etc.
