Scenes from the rally at the Israeli consulate this evening. The speakers were all Zionists. The attendees were Jews and Israelis who love Israel, wearing yellow ribbons and demanding aid into Gaza, an end to the war, and the hostages home.
I agree with this, it’s a serious problem that both sides don’t distinguish between Israel proper and the West Bank. NBN helps people move to anywhere, which includes settlements (though ones that will likely end up in Israel.) The protestors likely believe ALL of Israel is “occupied.”
And that’s the problem, it’s inseparable.
IMO the Israeli right wing / government has created this basic problem - of being unable to separate support for Israel from support from illegal land seizure - and they deserve the blame.

Urbanism—the notion that cities are good, that we should build housing in the dense walkable neighborhoods where people want to live, and that urban governance should prioritize city residents’ quality of life over suburban drivers’ convenience—remains a radical political program in America.
One thing that’s so frustrating living in a city center is the pervasive belief among suburbanites that your neighborhood is nothing more than a consumer experience for them and that the city should bend over backwards to ensure they can speed as fast as possible on their way to buy treats in it.

Also, it’s such a sick joke that ICE is here to keep us safe. This was a video of a perfectly safe day in the city - couldn’t feel safer - until a bunch of armed thugs run out of nowhere to start a fight and kidnap random pedestrians, which is one of the most terrifying things I can imagine
ICE is not only chasing down every random brown person in Chicago, they have a cameraman following them to film this for social media. Cruelty and inhumanity as content.
