As an alternative to deep frying, consider spatchcocking the turkey and then roasting it at 450°F (230°C) for ~90 minutes! It *also* cooks faster and more evenly than the traditional method, without the risk of BURNING YOUR FUCKING HOUSE DOWN.
this is not being overly dramatic, btw. see www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFR7... from minutefood who did some experiments, and determined that in order of importance, (1) TURN OFF THE BURNER, (2) lower your oil level to minimum needed, (3) lower the turkey slowly, and (4) yes, do defrost it in advance.

It is *CRITICAL* to resist the urge to give in to doomerism and declare that things not directly accomplished by the decision - removal of books from classrooms, age verification expanding to medical websites, and so on - are now the law.
