So it feels very weird to be talking about anything other than the ICE occupation right now, but the ARCs of my new book arrived on Saturday. I'm going to do a giveaway.

HOLY SHIT I HAVE ARMPIT HAIR AGAIN!!!

…this may require some explanation for new followers.

In 2023, I had the chemo they call the Red Devil. It is NASTY, to the point where there’s a lifetime dose and if you exceed it, your heart falls over, catches fire and sinks into the swamp.

This is super important for anyone who creates or otherwise taxes their brain to do their work.

Everything today is designed to distract you and keep you from being creative, because creativity is dangerous to the system.

The most valuable thing we still possess is the time to think and scheme.
Give yourself time to be bored

Having moments when you have zero stimulation is incredibly important to give the creative side of your brain a good workout

It doesn’t have to be for hours ! A nice 10 minute stroll without distractions for instance is a good start

If you really want to improve at your craft don't ever ask someone "what do you think?" when showing something to them.

Pick out a couple of specific things *you're* concerned about and ask about those. It shows you've put some thought into your craft and are looking for actionable ways to improve.

Showing more guts than 99% of Democrats ones too.
Powell, showing more guts than almost any GOP legislators:

"The threat of criminal charges is a consequence of the Fed setting interest rates based on our best assessment of what will serve the public, rather than following the preferences of the President."

She's genuinely terrified of the inevitable end result of saying that a bunch of illegitimate federal employees with no actual law enforcement authority can run around in the street executing people in acts of government-sanctioned domestic terrorism in a country with armed-to-the-teeth citizenry.
This slogan adopted by Kristi Noem, "One of Ours, All of Yours," is taken from the Nazis, who retaliated for the killing of an SS officer by murdering all the inhabitants of the Czech village of Lidice, apparently none of whom had anything to do with it, and razing the village to the ground.

New York, you done good putting in Mamdani in the city, he's already proving action matching words.

Now please replace this decrepit collaborator for the good of the rest of the country. I know the whole state has to get involved this time, but I have some faith in you.

It's up to you, New York.
Schumer is also a strongly-worded hugger.

They probably hurt their little fee-fees like the sad little snowflakes they all are.
Is this "peaceful" enough @governorwalz.mn.gov? Bovino can just stop for gas a mile from your house?

Kind of disappointed to the responses I am seeing to this post on here that forget large parts of the country still see all of this as being about legal deportation.

Sorry, these kind of arguments are what sway the people who AREN'T uber-socially conscious and plugged in 24x7.
Obama deported 3 million illegal immigrants during his time in office and I don’t remember a single scene like this.

I can't believe I'm posting this video - but we actually have to have a conversation about the real world implications of America going to war over Greenland.

Let me walk you through it. It doesn't turn out well for us.

Has anyone done a (physical product) giveaway on their Patreon before?

Just wondering how it works with their rules, coz the official guidelines page is a bit vague.

SO important, especially these days.

Tangentially, this is the entire purpose of mindfulness meditation. To train your brain-muscle to easily step out of a stream of thoughts and look at them dispassionately, even if only for a moment. That's usually all it takes.
Still a very important lesson for me to remember 🐻👉 Negative thought spirals and how to stop them (1 of 2) #TheBearMinimum #OldBearComics #Mentalhealth

I've been running an indie games studio for 15 years now, and it felt like a good time to boil down what I've learned into 4 pieces of advice:

I hope it's of use, not least because goddamn I forgot how long blog posts take to write.

I seem to remember people not liking Enola Holmes much, but we just watched both of them and I really hope they do more.

Nicely written, well acted, and I really like all the "woke."

Finally giving "Foundation" a try.

Does Lee Pace ever get to play characters that aren't stuck up arrogant prats?

Also how does a civilization rule for so long yet still build a structure as ridiculous as that space station / tether thing without some sort of redundancy or bomb proofing?

We have less than a year to get rid of weak, corporate centrists and milquetoast Democrats heading into the midterms.

There has to be a 2 to 4-year culling project.

Have to get rid of all of them.

They are part of the problem, and they aren't made for this moment or built for this fight.

Gonna show my age a bit here and say "Northern Exposure" which wrapped up a lot of sweet character arcs and ended with Iris DeMent's "Our Town" over the characters gathering for a final meal at Maurice's.

Still remember it vividly 30 years later...
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

You can be a success without getting up at 4:30am, going to the gym, taking an ice dip, journaling for an hour, suntanning your taint, and/or any of the other things stupid rich people continually use to explain why they are successful without giving credit to the society around them.
This place needs some Innocuous Discourse pronto. Quote this with a take that’s not political or aggressive
