My concern is that the proposed Regulatory Standards Bill which seeks to minimise if not remove the use of select committees (especially in the modification of already existing legislation & regulation) totally compromises the check and balance proposed in the Term of Parliament Bill 2/3

ACT NAT NZF still attempting a coup by stealth, with the aim of the Ministry for Regulation having unfettered control of legislation

I believe this is like a twin #Trojanhorse scenario
It all looks innocuous but when you put the two different proposed pieces of legislation side-by-side it clearly signals these proposed pieces of legislation will further compromise our democracy & our ability to make submissions.

Once again: in AoNZ we have just seen a Minister remove most investigator-led funding available for social sciences & humanities projects. Declaring these fields not useful for economic growth is an ideological approach. We are not immune to these forces.
Science is under siege. Political forces are undermining expertise, dismantling research institutions, and replacing evidence based policymaking with ideology.

This is a global crisis.

In the run up to 2023 election he said, I quote "We may have saved thousands of lives with our Covid response, but at what cost?" in normal times that would have ended his career, but here we are with just emboldened him to be more racist+
