It would never have occurred to me for one split second that pouring coffee down a drain might not be a sensible thing to do.

I would have thought putting it in a bin would be much worse, you really don't want a load of liquid sloshing about in there.

There's also the difference between "where do you live?" and "where were your ancestors from before coming to the UK?", both are plausible interpretations and intentions of the question.

Then it comes down to context and vibes whether you think the person is making small talk or being an arse.

Unfortunately in a post-truth world, while social media continues to tell them their life is shit they will continue to believe it.

The average Trump voter is wealthier than the average Dem voter, but that doesn't stop their sense of aggrievement because they've been told they've been hard done by.

I would take this even a bit further and say that the death cult Trump now leads is on a glide path to forever power and the end of American democracy. In other words, if nothing changes from how things are going right now, it is highly unlikely America will be *any* sort of democracy by early 2027.
