Local residents plowed by city? Some say there was advance notice in time to get off but this locally renowned Felcher thinks the city came too soon.

“Independent” is doing too much work in this first wave. They are arresting journalists and just like everything else they’ve done, they’re testing the limits of our resistance by starting wt vulnerable margins.

no fan of jeffries, but holy shit is this article misleading. in the press briefing he calls for "a prohibition that DHS cannot *detain* or deport American citizens", and his focus throughout the briefing is on the detainment part
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Thursday said House Democrats will demand a ban on the deportation of American citizens as a condition of winning their support for legislation funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

This is sort of a throughline in cases of excessive force used by law enforcement. The civilian is supposed to perfectly adhere to some unwritten code of conduct; the armed professional supposedly trained for such situations is only human & must be given lattitude if they succumb to fear and rage.
The administration is insisting that its masked goons are so emotionally stunted that words can launch them into a murderous rage.

props to the photo editor for picking the most iconic image of Ypsilanti they could

yes, we have a historic water tower that looks like a big penis, and it stands tall just like we do
“There are no words to fully capture the pain, fear and disruption this causes for our scholars and their loved ones,” Zachery-Ross said. “To see our families targeted in this way is a violation of the sense of safety that every member of our community deserves.”

I'm legit unfollowing people who never use alt text.

You're literally typing on a text based app. So why are you making Canva images with little pithy quips and no alt text. I honestly don't understand it.

There's no ICE accountability without ending qualified immunity.

They're murdering people. There won't be justice for the lives they've stolen, but there must be accountability.

My bill with @markey.senate.gov would ensure families can sue the agents murdering their loved ones.
