I was okay with it, but "Young Santa" was not approved as a tree topper. Moms have veto power.

I'm gonna try this here. My son likes a band named Giving a Butterfly a Skeleton. They aren't huge but have like 125K followers on spotify. I wanted to see if I could buy him merch for Christmas, like a shirt or something. I can't find anything. If anyone knows about them or has a lead, hit me up.

I don't understand boomer ellipses. In written fiction, ellipses are used to trail off or create suspense. This isn't a newfangled usage, this is the old, standard usage.
Using them in place of commas or periods doesn't make sense now, and has in fact never made much sense.
Here's Why Boomers Keep Using Ellipses In Text (And Why It Makes You Panic)
Experts shared why your dad's texts seem... so... ominous...

AJ Link is still banned.
Over on X, people like Nick Fuentes thrive

On Bluesky, autistic disability advocate AJ Link, president of the Nat’l Disabled Legal Professionals Assn (and an expert in space law) is banned

Singal? Bluesky changed the TOS to accommodate him

The racism and fascism are overt
Link's perma ban is wrong and should be reversed.

And what illustrates it being EVEN MORE WRONG, are recent suspensions with restoration with much much more egregious offenses in the same line of what Bluesky claims Link was banned over.

I was going to get a juicer but am leaning towards a vitamix. For smoothies and versatilty in utility. Spent a long time thinking about juicing vs smoothies. Thought about fibre. Thought about a Nama C2 juicer + blender but the price is far too great regardless of quality and warranty.

Advice?

Sure, they've made an environmentally catastrophic mass hallucination disinformation plagiarism Clippy that will destabilize the world, but also their other goal is to replace human workers entirely and let us humans starve. A boycott of AI is the most important boycott of your entire life.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

This is as good as this stuff will ever be, this is the phase where we're all supposed to be getting hooked in to this disruptive new thing. Once the free money dries up and they have to turn a profit, it will inevitably get worse and worse

A typical middle meal these days. I'm sticking to a 16:8 micro-fasting routine focusing on protein, fibre and lots of fresh vegetables and fruits. I haven't missed junk food at all.

Canadians, cast your vote for Canadian word of the year!

And if you haven't already, check out the spectacular Dictionary of Canadianisms on Historical Principles (OED-style), which published its third edition in May dchp.arts.ubc.ca
2025 has been an eventful year for Canada's identity. To commemorate the year, The Society for Canadian English is choosing a 2025 word of the year (CWOTY), based on the Dictionary of Canadianisms on Historical Principles.
