Considering Chris Bores is an alt-right grifter now, yeah that checks out.

the movie, either, considering that it's from the director of Ralph Breaks the Internet. A seal of quality if I've ever heard one.

The audiobook was fine, Richard Ayoade does a good job reading it, but while the performance is great, you can only polish a turd so much. 6/10.

the upcoming movie, but...wow. I honestly don't know why anyone would want to read this. Not only is it not written by Dahl, but the Twits aren't exactly great characters to begin with. The most memorable thing about the book is how they die.

Then again, I don't exactly have high hopes for-

I was shocked to learn that apparently, last year of all years, somebody wrote a sequel. Yes, The Twits Next Door is a real book, apparently, and it was written long after Dahl's death. I don't know why you would want to write a sequel to this of all books, aside from maybe wanting to cash in on-

straightforward adaptation on the movie's trailer, and honestly, I don't know how you COULD turn this book into a movie using its original plot. The Twits is rarely talked about as one of Dahl's greatest books, and it might be for a reason. Not racist, but not a great book either.

Which is why-

half, we're introduced to the monkeys the Twits have been holding captive, and them getting their sweet revenge against them, which is admittedly pretty cathartic, but this was already one of Dahl's shorter books and it feels like it.

I saw someone comment that they should have made a more-

That said...the book's honestly not that good. It doesn't even really have a plot until halfway through the story. The first half of the book is a bunch of the Twits playing pranks on each other, in typical boomer humor 'I hate my wife' stuff. Not terrible, but not really a story. The second-

dirty one. Now, you COULD read this as being anti-Jew-coded, but honestly I think that's a stretch. If anything, this book came out in 1980, and that was only 10 years before Dahl died. He was already pretty old by that point, so I see this as less 'racism' and more 'old man yells at cloud.'-

Dahl hated anyone in this book, it's people with BEARDS. Yes, this book was specifically made because someone Dahl knew had a son with a thick beard, and he really didn't like the idea of someone having a thick beard, thinking it'd be impossible to clean. Which is why Mr. Twit has a purposely-

You see, it had been a while since I read this book, and given what we know now about Dahl's antisemitism, I remembered the illustrations, and somehow got it into my head that this would be Dahl using Jewish stereotypes to make these characters seem EVIL. Thankfully, I don't think that's true. If-

77. The Twits (Audiobook).

Been a while since I read one of these, but in preparation for the Twits movie on Netflix, I decided to re-familiarize myself with the source material. Thankfully, Libby had the audiobook (cue Arthur reference). But I had a bit of a bad feeling going into this one.-

Every once in a while, I see people wonder why, out of all of the available Pokémon to choose, Poliwhirl was so often shown front and center. Especially in the case of Pokémon's marketing in America.

Well, I'm going to do my best to answer that question now.
