You don’t have to like Nuzzi or approve of her conduct to understand that Lizza’s choice to publish the material that he is publishing is meant to sexually humiliate her in public in retaliation for disappointing him romantically. The term for that is revenge porn.

As an ex-teacher, i'll whisper that this is not exclusively how children are taught to read. It's one of many strategies, and not one that would be reinforced. And standardized tests usually only show how well people do taking standardized tests.
BUT! people REALLY struggle with reading regardless.
ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

Most people don’t know that with SNAP you are banned from buying “foods that are hot at the point of sale”. So even if you have SNAP (which people don’t now) you can’t get cooked food. Which means you need to also actually have the resources to PREPARE a “healthy” meal.
Thinking about the social stigma against eating fast food in a country where poor people are being starved by the govt, the cost of groceries and fresh vegetables are astronomical, and a cheeseburger at McDonald’s costs $3.50.

“Clean” and “healthy” eating rhetoric is racist, ableist, and classist.

“Here, taking care of one another through public programs isn’t radical socialism. It’s Tuesday.”
This perfectly encapsulates how I feel living in the US. The republican party is an insane death cult, the democratic party is 3 corporations in a trench coat, and the "socialists" are just the completely normal left-wing capitalists you'd find in any of 2 dozen European nations.
Europeans recognize Zohran Mamdani’s supposedly radical policies as ‘normal’
