Treated Reese Witherspoon like a normal customer who was at GameStop to buy video games for her children (she seemed to find this hilarious which I didn't understand at the time because I didn't realize it was her until she was leaving)
Shared an elevator with LL Cool J and someone he was with while going to work
Sold Danny Glover a USB car charger.

Would love a heist video game where you're infiltrating data centers and rescuing people's data in the form of diaper monkeys

Why would we all willingly contribute to a world where what we enjoy doing, or find purpose in, is done by anyone other than us? Even when there are other people more practiced/accomplished than you, ofc you want to be the one to do the thing!

This is so exactly what it's all about. It's why people who refuse to think or conceptualize (maybe someone told them they can't) are the ones insisting it's a process that can be done by a machine.

Nobody being replaced by AI is championing AI and that's the core of all of it. That's it.
"look we're not using AI in the final product we're just using it to speed up the conceptual stage" is what a lot of dopes affecting an enlightened middle position keep saying. I truly do not get that one. You hate imagining stuff? You don't like thinking and conceptualizing? Get a grip

I keep talking to people who are very anti AI who admit they're fine with it being used ' to brainstorm/ generate ideas', I have to explain very clearly why that's just a terrible idea as generating assets.

People genuinely don't know what concept art is/what concept artists do!
it's all bad but it's disgusting to imply that using genAI for concept art is comparable to placeholder text

the only way to write something good is to write something bad over and over again until it becomes good. outsourcing all the writing something bad parts to a machine means you didn't write the good thing on the other end (if it's even good)

"placeholder text" "concept art" either the temporary thing you put in matters to the process, in which case you need to get a human to work on it, or it doesn't, in which case you can just as easily put a bright pink rectangle that says PLACEHOLDER in and save everyone time and effort

If you work a studio that’s been nominated for a Game Award this year (or even years’ past), I would love to speak to you about your experience getting tickets! How many did your studio get? How many did you buy?

Hot* take: I want to see more spiritual successors rather than remakes for old games. I want to see people telling new stories and building new worlds rather than just rehashing old things.

I also want old games to be easily and legally playable.

* Probably not actually that hot

@sunder.bsky.social Are you just googling songs that BPM match the FF battle music once every 6 months?

Because that's a great idea

There's an indie book store near my job and I like to go there to look for new mysteries off raw impressions. If I like a few, I check if they're on Libby, buy the books and borrow the audiobooks. Sitting & reading doesn't work for me but I like owning something real + my gf can read the physicals~
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.
