There is extremely fertile ground for communism in the local town Facebook groups of Britain. The people in these groups all seem to want a planned economy, and seem to hanker for a grand authority which dictates which shops open in any given town, irrespective of business case.

To be clear, this is Graham Linehan appearing to celebrate the murder of a woman.
Graham Linehan claims he detonated his career, his family, his entire life, to protect women. He often asks people to "apologise to their daughters" if they disagree with him on trans rights.

And yet, when someone's daughter is executed by ICE, he shares Right-Wing propaganda that she deserved it.

We have such a ridiculous attitude towards driving. Having a licence is not a right, and it should be denied if you can't be trusted to do it. One thing that always annoys me is that driving is the only discipline where you're treated more leniently if you need to do it for your job.
You might think that a man who drove into 100 people, using his car as a weapon, would NEVER be allowed to drive again.

It turns out he will be able to, around three years after leaving prison by taking an extended retest.

Why should he ever be able to get behind the wheel again?

So I'm basically a car person and I essentially agree with this. There is no excuse for not having low speed limits and enforcement in urban driving. Where I think the frustration is, in the UK at least, is the proliferation of really pointless 30mph limits on what are basically semi-rural roads
My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

(15 in Manhattan btw)
There is no possible justification for limiting e-bikes to 15mph but not cars.

LEAVITT: We've given you an explanation. The president is literally constantly shaking hands.

This Times article is the sort of egregious propagandising lies that really needs to carry very serious consequences, but won't. I would however be happy to contribute if the wronged parties here did want to try to ruin some wankers
You might think from the headline that this is a story about a trans kid suffering medical consequences from a large drug dose but nope! It is just an interview with an estranged father who is angry that his child happily transitioned.

I remain fairly convinced that the Labour govt is composed of two types of people who know they're in government and want to do bad stuff, and people who don't even realise they are in government
Fucking state of this. Acting like they are completely powerless to do anything since the SC judgement.

Any new way of including people without amending the Equality Act will just be all-new segregation, now with added ‘dignity and respect’.

there's a trans woman in prison, a man's prison, right now bcos she gave a blowjob to some guy and he claimed he didn't know she was trans.

they sent her to prison for that.

this guy lied to two women for five years, raping them all that time, but it's fine bcos it's state sanctioned.

This wouldn't even work - the far right and the compliant media would simply lie more and in different ways. You can't compromise with the far right, you have to fight them.
That's right! We should destroy human rights so that Keir Starmer can win* the next general election!

I'm continually amused that the language of car reviewer YouTube often involves phrases like "Living with [incredible car]" as if driving around in a 911 GT3 Touring is like having IBS or something. Just incredible use of language.

Interesting aside - Morrisons employed a transphobic consultant to give some training several years ago, praised her work giving her one of the only reviews on her website, never apologised or explained themselves and I haven't set foot in their shops since

This appears to be the usual situation where the GCs have lost on the substance of the case they're really interested in, but got a couple of procedural wins because people don't follow their HR processes properly. Seems like almost entirely good news here, given they'll always claim a win anyway

The best thing about this is that to win any motion you want, you just need to identify a bunch of women who you think will vote against you and report them to the authorities for being trassexuals, and then they won't be able to vote whilst they're being 'investigated'

Everyone’s talking about whether Farage was racist to schoolchildren as a boy when he was racist to schoolchildren THIS WEEK. All the kids who are of reading age can read what he says about them.
John Swinney has responded to Nigel Farage's attack on Glasgow schoolchildren, calling it 'quite simply racist'

See this is very clever - kids hate to be seen doing the same things adults do, and so because kids now see adults constantly bullying kids, they don't do it so much. Genius when you think about it
it is an underrated miracle of the 21st century that we really did massively, massively reduce bullying in schools
My experience as well. So far we're 2-for-2 on kids having a largely bullying/abuse-free middle school experience. Not without bumpy spots of course, but light years away from what I endured.

My hot take: the anti-bullying stuff has really worked, which is why conservatives are pushing back at it.
