I'm a scientist because I love learning when I am wrong and updating my knowledge.
A good science teacher encourages us to be wrong and then figure things out as the evidence rolls in. The "gotcha!" mentality shown in movies and pop culture are wrong, and not in a good (learning experience) way

NEW @ms.now: Pardoned by Trump, anti-abortion activists plan a nationwide revival of mass blockades at clinics & pharmacies that dispense abortion pills — in part, bc they know this DOJ won't prosecute them.

"This is our window," Randall Terry told me.

I caught up w/ him & others in DC last week:
‘We’re going to disrupt this country’: Pardoned anti-abortion activists plot mass clinic protests
A group of longtime abortion opponents, emboldened by Trump's pardons, regrouped in Washington to plan a new wave of demonstrations at abortion clinics.

No city squanders its potential like Los Angeles

It could easily be the Tokyo of the Eastern Pacific, but instead it's a series of decaying strip malls from the 60s

1. The most extreme anti-trans bill ever proposed is currently rocketing through the Kansas legislature.

It would empower bounty hunters to search for trans people in bathrooms, even in private businesses, and sue them for large sums of money.

The House is voting on it today.
Kansas Advancing Anti-Trans Bill Allowing Bounty Hunters To Patrol Private Business Bathrooms
The bill, which is racing through the Kansas legislature, stands a significant chance of passing the Senate.

I woke up horrified by what happened at the candlelight vigil in Eugene last night.

As the Oregon Nurses Association held a vigil for Alex Pretti outside the Federal Building, after Mayor Kaarin, Senator James Manning, and Representative Lisa Fragala left…Flash-bangs. Tear gas. Pepper balls.

The Trump campaign didn’t even mention transportation in its 2024 platform. But during the lead up to the election, we could read the tea leaves — www.bloomberg.com/news/article... — a 2nd Trump admin would systematically undermine transit investment.

And here we are.

it reveals pretty plainly that "merit-based hiring" means "you belong to the correct class and hold the right set of identities"
Odd how when people like Bari Weiss go on about 'merit-based hiring', what they mean is hiring nice-looking white boys from elite schools regardless of their experience.

E-bikes are an amazing transportation tool. Especially in urban places. We should make them more accessible along with building safe bike infrastructure. Go after the illegal bikes/electric motorcycles and don't forget about those cars that actually kill almost 40,000 Americans a year.

Simply put, this is unacceptable. The entire agency is rotten to the core. There is no reforming or retraining a culture of lawlessness, there is only uprooting every part of it and then trying something different.

Call your senators and demand they abolish and prosecute ICE and the DHS
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

Everything they learned in Minnesota they’re applying in Maine from day one. They started off doing fast-moving snatch and grabs on the street, recording and using facial id on observers, and threatening observers directly. They’ll do it all where you live too.
Why is the msm outside of Maine not covering this? It seems like a huge and very troubling story to me. ICE coming to observers houses or calling them on the phone warning them to back off??!! www.pressherald.com/2026/01/23/i...
